Tough course (posse) with or without wind. Enjoyed the challenge but it was more for a skilled golfer than someone like me that typically shoots 100. It is a very nice course on the lake and the clubhouse is nice and the staff was friendly.

We play here often both on the Outlaw and the Posse. Both are stunning courses with beautiful views of Smithville Lake at every angle. The courses are in excellent condition. We can already tell that the new irrigation system is a great benefit! We are very excited about the new Zoysia grass fairways on the Posse. They are going to be fantastic! The staff both in and out are always very welcoming and accommodating. We appreciate their attentiveness always!

Can't speak as to the golf experience, but wasn't thrilled with it as an event venue. If there are changing tables in any of the restrooms, they're well hidden, wouldn't recommend for any event where small children will be in attendance.

If you don't mind the drive up to Smithville Lake, then you will really enjoy this diamond in the rough. The complex holds two golf courses, the Outlaw and the Posse. The outlaw features a links style course with beautiful zoysia fairways. The course takes you out into the grasslands before hooking up with the lake on its signature #10 par 3. The bunkers on this course are very deep and unforgiving. Many of the ones around the greens have deep faces making it extremely difficult to get out of. The #17 par 5 on this course is one of my favorites in the city. The Posse is a completely different experience. With fescue/bluegrass fairways the course tends to bring the water of the lake more into play. I would have to say it's the more difficult of the two. There are several shots across water to reach the green. One of the best ways to experience this course is too book an early morning round on one course. Then break for lunch with a delicious Outlaw Burger and homemade fries, along with a great tap beer selection. After that grab a second round on the other course. Two rounds will run you about $75 which is a hell of a bargain. My only complaint is the lack of beer cart girls. They simply don't exist out there.

In my opinion, Paradise Pointe is one of the nicest public golf courses in the Kansas City area. With a perfect location right along Smithville Lake, the complex boasts 2 different courses that offer picturesque views, challenging layouts, and well-maintained grounds. And if you're able to book one of their TeeQuest deals, it can be a very affordable outing as well! Unfortunately, the service here leaves much to be desired. On my most recent outing, I played The Posse course on a busy day as a part of a foursome. (My wife and I were paired up with two other gentlemen when we arrived). However, I think we were the only foursome on the entire course that day. With a beginner golfer as a part of our foursome, we definitely weren't flying through the round; but we still finished the front 9 in under 2 hours (well under the recommended time on the scorecard of 2 hours 15 minutes). When we arrived at the turn, we offered to let the twosome behind us play through, but they declined and stated that they're just out relaxing and enjoying the beautiful weather. But then, as we were finishing the 10th hole, a course marshall approached our group and accused us of playing too slowly and warned us to pick up the pace. We told the marshall when we had teed off and explained that we had already offered to allow people to play through, but our comments fell on deaf ears. This encounter with the course marshall was so uncalled for and frustrating that it led two of our players to stop playing altogether, and it all but ruined the rest of the round for the two of us who continued. Even though I love this course, I refuse to tolerate this type of disrespect from course management, and as a result I doubt I'll be back to play here again anytime soon.

The beautiful views make this a busy golf course. Either course is fun to play but expect it to be busy and expect to run into golfers that just want to drink and have fun. If you are a golf snob, make an early tee time to get ahead of those that play slower. If you don't, expect to wait on a nice weekend. In off season, the food shack on the Outlaw is not open so get what you want before you leave the clubhouse because you won't see it again until after you finish.
