This isn't your typical bakery. Authentic Mexican breads and pastries fill the cases. The cakes in the refrigerator look impeccable. The smells and aroma make it hard to just pick one item. After one bite, I was convinced that it's the best pastry I've had in ages. It's the perfect balance of butter and sweetness that makes your tastebuds scream in excitement. The employee was as sweet and kind as the treats. Helpful and friendly as can be with our selections. This hidden gem is one of those small, easy-to-miss places that are significantly underappreciated.

Wonderful Mexican bakery! I love piggy cookies. I first discovered them here. I love to get several baked goods and try them with my morning coffee. This place is authentic. It's a very small store front. You grab a tray and tongs, and select your items. Then the cashier will bag up your items. Very, very reasonably priced! I love coming here.

Found this spot off the beaten path while walking around, not far from downtown. Cookies and pastries were fresh and the employees very friendly!

These pastries and deserts were great! However... not sure about some other things My only complaint is the cleanliness of the establishment. I watched the associate work on a loaf of bread with no gloves and checked me out (swiping my card) then carried on with baking. Also, the pastry doors were not closed . The pricing for each piece is cheap! The products are large and can be shared.

OK, hold on to yer britches, amigo. I'm giving PdLA 5 stars because their bakery items are the bomb! Sorry, no customer wi-fi, lime colored signage, cute stuff animal souvenirs or CDs to buy at the counter, no happy sax muzak, no place to SIT even. Just mouth watering, delicious baked goods in a postage stamp of a storefront. We stopped, a party of four, because someone had a desire for these. And, we have an elderly Hispanic neighbor who doesn't have a lot of money so we pick up stuff like this for her when we can (in return for her homemade enchiladas... OMG...). She said these were the best ever, and I believe her. Truth told, I always found panaderia pastries to be just a tad on the dry side and not always to my craving. But I suspect they are used for dipping in coffee, hot chocolate and stuff and I may just be a dumb gringo. So then why do I keep finding my way to these places? Because they're fun, because they're interesting and it is good food and good culture. And often, the people are really nice as they are here. We tried several items but what really set it off was a stuff swirled pastry with the most delicate coffee flavored cream fill that was simply sublime. Luckily I only ordered one or I would have eaten a bag of them.So while I like the options at Reyna's in the KCK bottoms and the offerings at San Antonio grocery, and the vaunted Bonito Michoacan bakery up on Minnesota Avenue, they're just killing it here. The best of the best in my opinion. If you like to get some of this goodness to go you can't go wrong here.

Confession, I have never been to a bakery in Mexico. So I am taking the owner at his word that they are the best. I will also confess I like this little bakery a little more than I should.Cookies, cakes, sweet bread, rolls, doughnuts and a lot of other baked stuff I can't remember how to pronounce just yet. It is all pretty cheap too. Grab a tray, a pair of tongs and help your self. The only thing I've tried that I wasn't really into was their guava or passion fruit filled sweet breads. It is a pretty small space but I'm usually the only one or one other customer. The cashier although nice usually speaks broken English, but honestly not much need be said. They can always tell me what the flavors are and check out is just as easy. Parking although limited, a spot can be found pretty easy. Except on the first Friday of the month and than forget trying to find a spot let alone driving through at snails pace, bumper to bumper. Weekends are really chill and they do make cakes to order, like a picture of your face on it, yeah I need to get on that.

Panaderia de Las Americas is a small bakery located on Southwest Boulevard. Just like most of the restaurants here, this place is a gem. While it is tiny, they offer a wide variety of breads and pastries that smell absolutely divine! My friends and I had just gotten tacos next door and wanted dessert. My friend was raving about their tres leches cake and how delicious and big it was. We all decided to split a piece. The hype did not disappoint! Each slice of cake was massive and only cost $4! When I took my first bite, I knew I was in love! The cake was spongy yet sweet. I especially enjoyed the bottom layer since it was soaked in milk! Overall, it was the perfect finish to our meal, and I left fully satisfied even with only eating 1/4 of a slice! While I still haven't tried all the pastries, I am dying to go back soon! I definitely would recommend stopping by here if you want some fresh baked goods that the locals love as well!

First time at this bakery, very grateful to have come across it. I have been looking for an authentic Mexican bakery since I moved to KC. I showed up in the evening hours and although the bakery is open until 10pm, almost all the bread is gone. They had concha and stuffed empanadas of Forrest sorts. I ended up getting a croissant and guava stuffed empanada. You can taste the quality in each bite, homemade authentic tasting. I'm very in love with this place and will be going back to try different items. They make bread throughout the day in house, and although I showed up in the evening. The bread itself was fresh as if just out of the oven. I really wanted a puerquito (Mexican type of ginger bread) but those sell out fast. After talking with one of the workers, they advised to come early in the morning ad they open at 6AM. The staff is very nice and helpful. The bakery itself is small, they focus on the bread and the space is dedicated for the oven and bread displays. It's small, don't expect to be able to sit and eat your goodies. Overall, I love this place. It's exactly what I expected it to be for a traditional Mexican bakery.

This bakery literally lured me in by the wonderful smells the baked goods inside produced. I was eating lunch at the restaurant next door, but my mind was really on dessert the entire time because the smell of freshly baked cookies filled the air. After our meal, we went inside and checked it out. The pastries are self serve and they are HUGE. The sugar cookies are as big as my hand with all of my fingers stretched out and the croissants are equally large. I grabbed a variety of four different things and took a small chunk off of each one to try once I got home They were fantastic. Everything was good start to finish. If you are looking for really good, homemade Mexican baked goods, definitely give this place a try!
