The Palace Market is a hidden gem in historic downtown Osawatomie. The Lunch menu is very robust with daily specials. They are very focused on the use of healthier ingredients for their offerings. In addition to their many menu items they also sell certain craft items. Amish Jams and Jellies and Spreads, Craft Pies, Kettlecorn, and more. As an homage to its roots they also sell many meat items. The Bratwurst varieties are epic, the Ribeye is as good as you will get, and the Burnt Ends absolutely sublime. As this gem continues to sparkle I strongly suggest you visit. You will not be disappointed.

First time eating here today. My fiancé tried their special of the day which was a breaded and fried pork tenderloin served with mashed potatoes, white gravy, corn and a warm roll. The tenderloin was fried perfect, nice crispy edges with that beautiful soft center. The gravy was rich and creamy, seasoned perfectly. The mashed potatoes were a little runnier than I prefer, but it did not detract from the flavor. The corn was fresh and served hot and buttery. I tried the battered fish sandwich which was also fried perfect. It was a generous portion sized sandwich and came on a perfectly soft fluffy bun. I always have to try the fries at every new place and was not disappointed here. Tasted like home handcut fries, as if I would expect making them at home. I prefer mine just a little more crispy, but that is always hard to do with fresh fries. I will definitely be going back to try more items. It is a small establishment inside, they had 2 tables for seating. They had a very nice selection of goods to try like different relishes, salsas, jams, bar b que spices and sauces. I did not purchase and yet, but will probably try some soon. They did have a good selection of different desserts. Take and bake pies with a good variety. We sampled a single slice of the peanut butter chocolate pie and it was amazing. Rich and creamy, but not too sweet. Not sure if it is made in house or if they order frozen, but I couldn't tell the difference, and don't really care. I definitely recommend it if you have a sweet tooth. I was happy with every thing we tried and plan on continuing to sample their other goodies.
