Hello dive bar!! What a nice establishment. My wife and I went out for a birthday weekend and ended up here around 9pm. I walked in to giant "happy birthday" signs everywhere. As it would happen five other people were all celebrating brothers the same week as I was. They had a DJ who played very nice music that everyone was enjoying. This place is definitely visited by locals more then tourists but it was exactly what we were looking for at that moment. The drinks were cheap and the atmosphere was super friendly. This place is worth a visit if your local to the area or passing through.

We hiked it all the way here from another dive bar I reviewed which was like maybe about 2 miles. It did take us a while to walk here. When I got here I was amazed because it doesn't get any more legit than this. Everybody in there knew everybody else. It was dark and it was dingy and the drinks were cheap and the bathroom was broken LOL. The pool tables were moved out of the way because apparently somebody had a wedding reception or something in their schedule for the next day. I think the pool tables would have been nice. There was a table full of people in there and they invited us to come sit with them. How nice is that? They were all locals or relatively local from Kansas City and over the border into Kansas. They were very friendly and we chatted and had a few drinks. The staff was nice and there was a handyman diligently working on the bathroom. We all took turns with the men's while the women's wasn't working. This is exactly the kind of dive bar that I love to find, everybody knows everybody and it's Tucktaway in a little neighborhood and drinks are cheap and the decoration is early 1970s Naugahyde. I would definitely come back here.

You walk in and the vibes are abnormal. A few card games are being played out by locals. A homely drunkard yells something incoherent to you and your girlfriend. The layout looks like a depressing end to a lousy family reunion. But man do they know how to have a good time. The locals playing cards are friendly and love to dance. The drunkard missing teeth leaves you alone for the most part. The decor... well that doesn't change but it's such a gem of a hole in the wall. The bartender is friendly as hell. The people there love to dance and have a good time. The guys outside, smoking cigarettes will open the door for you and gladly greet you to this shit hole haven. It's not much, but the hearts inside make it all worth it. Best night out I've had since the pandemic began.

I was walking by and noticed they were opened and popped in for a Pacifico. This place is so cool they don't post hours of operation. The bartender was nice enough to share them with me though: Weds-Sat: 5-10 pm. No food though, just cold beer, some cocktails, and friendly conversation.

(This review is a partial repost from my personal blog.)PR's Place is probably one of the least known-about bars in downtown Kansas City, at least outside of the Hispanic community. Located on the eastern edge of Kansas City's West Side, PR's Place is a popular hangout for Kansas City's hispanic population while virtually unknown among the artists and hipsters found only a block to the east. You might walk right by this place and not realize it's a bar, the exterior resembles something more like a dentist office.PR's has an inviting, comfortable interior and though you're likely to be looked upon cautiously at first by all the regulars, the bartender will soon do a good job of making you feel welcome.PR's is also a popular place for watching sports -- especially soccer. If you are a fan of the World Cup this is a great place to watch it. Beer is available in cans/bottles only.By the way, PR's Place is the only bar I am aware of so far to have had a live horse inside it, when it received a visit by the second Warpaint, former mascot of the Kansas City Chiefs.

This is a gem of Westside. A dive and a half. Come on Thursdays for tacos, every night for margaritas. Pool tables. Amazing vibe. Everyone is very friendly.
