I am very disappointed with the Customer Service at Overland Park Racquet Club. I was a member for over 10 years but 3 years ago switched to Genesis KCRC. I still participate in many activities at OP and still enjoyed playing tennis there but now I know my decision to move was the correct one. I was a guest playing with three other members who offered to split the $12 guest fee to make it more even. When we went to pay, they said they couldn't split the guest fee so suggested that one member pay for it and then we reimburse her so that's what we did. A day later, the other three girls realized they had been charged just the court time, but I had not. Since my credit card was expired, they could not process the charges. I received an email in March for the January court time requesting an updated credit card. When I called, I am now finding out they charged me the entire $12 guest fee. Now I could go back and ask for each girl to pay me $3.00 but I don't want to do that, so I asked if OP would agree to waive this guest fee in this one instance since this was not the way we wanted to be billed. Ann in accounting said it doesn't matter how long I was a member for and that since I was not a member at the time, I owed the $12. I don't disagree with her but was hoping for a little consideration as it is only $12 and I thought my past years of membership might have some influence. I even asked for a credit to be placed on the account for a future court time but no luck. It doesn't seem like everything needs to always black and white and that there could be some leniency or exceptions to make a customer happy or even to want to come back at some time to be a member. That will not be happening with me. No, the extra $9 will not break me. It's just the principle.

We were visiting from CA and we came across a JR tennis program at this facility. Absolutely impressed with the coaches, facility, and overall organization. Stacy was very accommodating and very helpful with placing my daughter in the right group and made sure everything was going well.

This club just cancelled my daughter's camp, less than 24 hours before it was scheduled to start, due to low attendance, and offered no alternatives. While I understand that camps may be cancelled due to low participation, every other camp I have been involved with (and that's a lot) offer a no refund/no cancellation policy after a certain amount of time, typically 2-4 weeks in advance. This is done for a reason, and avoids terrible business practices such as what I just experienced. Not only is my daughter crushed, but now I have to make last min, emergency plans for work.

My escape!! I currently take tennis lessons here weekly, but wish it was more often! It's one of few places in the city to play tennis in the wintertime. Tennis in KC is it's own community full of fun-loving people!

Have been a member going on 25 years and the current changes are wonderful. New tennis lighting, new lockers and facilities, new lounge. The addition of Great Life Fitness to the club is the best thing ever to stay fit for tennis. It includes all new comprehensive fitness center, state of the art machines, weights, and separate room for fitness classes. Have taken several interval classes and love the level and convenience. And best of all was able to drop other expensive fitness memberships! Yay! I highly recommend Overland Park Racquet Club and Great Life Fitness programs.

This place is way too expensive. They charge individual or family membership + court rates that are ridiculous! The facility is not a full facility. The have a little workout out area, and dirty outdoors swimming pool. I hate to admit it but I was suckered into there membership and had to commit for a full year. Also, the pros are money leachers. They don't give a hoot about you, it is how many hrs they get to spend with you so that they can leach off some commission.Membership fees are like $91 + tax (WTF) for familyCourt fees are $28 - $32 + tax (WTF)If you are tight on money, don't go to this place. Go to GOLD's GYM.They have a flat fee of $80/month and no court fees. Check them out.Be warned to ask a lot of questions before signing up with Overland Park Racquet Club and know what is offered. You don't want to be a sucker like me.
