I went to the Just for Her event Sunday. $5 entry fee--not bad to see what's available, make some purchases, etc. Not too crowded as I heard it was for Saturday. I arrived when it had been open for a bit.Parking was reasonable for the time/day. I purchased a "mocktail" called Island Gal--mango drink with 0% proof rum I think they said and pretty sweet! A bit pricey at $7 for a non-alcoholic beverage. Oh well. #JustForHer

Respectfully, someone please review with the chef what is expected of a SALAD dish. In case it's unclear: It's not a plain beet cut up on a plate. I cannot overstate the heartbreak I felt when I realized there was no TRUE salad coming. These events are painful enough. A man NEEDS his shaved parmesan on a boujee little salad. That's the whole reason I came here. I'm Larry ****** King. The award show is lucky to have ME. In exchange, I expect a traditional dinner spread with a REAL salad. Will not be returning.

Conveniently located off 435 and Nall. Adjacent to a hotel. Plenty of parking. Great venue for weddings, trade shows and conferences. Lots of hotels, shops and restaurants nearby. Events here are always well organized.

The Overland Park convention Center was a great idea, but the location just plain stinks. I don't know who thought it was a good idea to place a convention center in this area with the awful amount of parking that is available. It seems as though there is never enough parking for whatever event that they hold at the convention center. I don't really know if there's anything that can be done to remedy this problem with the lack of space and how close it is to the highway.

The Brady Bunch led me here. Seriously. I wanted to meet Barry Williams while he was in town. He was doing a Meet-and-Greet at the Home and Garden Show in the Overland Park Convention Center so I headed down. I had been to this center before for other events. This is a large venue with a parking garage and lot parking across the street. Parking is plentiful and easy. This is about the most exciting thing I can say about the Overland Park Convention Center. This is a big place. Very large and there seems to be room for lots of events. The Home and Garden Show I attended was packed full of vendors and people. We were given a floor map that was semi-easy to follow. The event itself was well organized. The staff was helpful and nice, too. This would be a perfect attraction if it stepped outside the lines a bit and created some uniqueness. Every time I go inside this building, I feel like zoning laws have infiltrated indoors and everything must be very uniform. This building is perfect for Johnson County. It is just a typical, bland, beige, nothing-stands-out venue. There are no interesting pieces of art or artifacts for you to see. There is no WOW factor here. Nothing distinguishing about the venue. It is like every other blah convention center you may have seen other towns who don't dare to be different. Perfect for gun shows, home and garden shows, bridal shows, car shows and whatever else needs to be shown. There are no complaints about this venue. There just aren't many compliments, either.

Meh. This place has never done it for me, it's just so generic once you get inside. I used to work in the area and found myself here often eating airline food.. I mean catered chicken and vegetables on the reg and the food fit the building. The other thing that always got me about this place is that it's in the burbs, in a sea of parking lots and yet the parking somehow seems like a jumbled mess. You have to cross the street to get into the Convention Center and it just so happens to be the street that everyone else who's driving in is using so it creates a jam. I've yet to attend an event here that was really memorable, so for now this Convention Center is just a place I have to go from time to time but don't look forward to it.

IMO, access to and parking for this venue kind of sucks. And there isn't even an entrance to the building from the tiny indoor lot attached to it! Signage to get to their overflow parking (if the outdoor lot is full, which is always) is invisible or nonexistent. I always dread going to events here.

Checked out the India fest here with a few of my friends. I was expecting more food, as the festival seemed more of an advertisement arena. However, the food offered was good and fairly priced. Portions were great!

I've been to a few trade shows here. It's pretty easy to access from the main roads and parking has always been free. Once inside it's pretty simple to find your way around. They have pretty good show here - hen house, train shows, half price books used to have shows. Great way to get your product out to the general public in JOCO.

I just don't understand why it's so difficult to put up adequate signs to help us all out. There's all sorts of posters and art and flags and banners, and yet they can't have a sign saying where you actually have to go to check-in for an event!! No 'line forms here' sign, so we all end up standing in a jumble together, asking around what to do. I'm sure there are security guards watching us on CCTV laughing at us. This place is big and modern and beautiful but for crying out loud- put up some dang explanatory signs! And don't even get me started on parking. Just avoid their onsite parking altogether here and park across the street. For events, they often have shuttles running every 10 minutes or so.
