Oscar's Authentic Mexican Grill

I have been wanting to try this place so gave it a shot. Options to order at the table by scanning in the menu or you order on a screen at the front counter. It's like a more authentic version of chipotle. Order a burrito, picked chicken, charro beans and cheese. I didn't see a spot to choose sauce add on. It came with chips and a small side of sauce. The burrito was good but it could've been warmer. Charro beans were incredible and queso was good. Everything delivered by a robot from the kitchen. Sort of neat but made me think of Paulie's robot from Rocky IV. Good meal that I'll try again.

I first discovered Oscar's when they made Yelp's top places to eat list in the KC metro a few years back. Curious, I ordered a burrito via Doordash and I was immediately hooked - I've essentially been ordering from them regularly ever since! This is a local, mom and pop kind of spot that does burritos, tacos, and bowls, similar to Chipotle. Since it's a bit of a haul out to Olathe I end up ordering online a bunch since they are fast, often have deals on delivery, and the food is always delivered on time, correct, and packaged with care. Something I really love about Oscar's that sets it apart from others in this fast casual area is that they give you a small side of chips and salsa with your burrito, which I think is a really nice touch. Another thing I like is that it's pretty easy to order something for kids as well. Our daughter can be a bit picky but I love that it's simple to customize something that she'll eat so we can all eat as a family here.

This little local gem is located in the Olathe Landing Shops behind McDonald's next to Dollar Tree. This is a no frills establishment with a straightforward menu and atmosphere. The best way to describe Oscar's is it is a mom and pop Chipotle that was started by two brothers. Personally I like Oscar's better. The staff is very friendly and helpful and your order, whether eat in or to go is brought to you by a robot. Plus they have charro beans (which are my favorite). I ordered the rice bowl which came with my choice of tortillas, rice, beans, meat, salsa. My son ordered the quesadilla which he got to choose his choice of meat, rice and beans. I forgot to order the queso, which is also really good, but that ended up being a good thing. Because we left with happy full tummys and would have been over stuffed.

I don't normally write reviews for places that I DoorDash, because I can't give the full experience, but this order was so good I had to say something. I absolutely love the way that my food was packaged. I ordered the chicken flautas with refried beans and Spanish rice. I was craving flautas and I chose here because of the amount of customization you can do with the toppings. I am not a fan of sour cream and most places put it on as standard. I chose lettuce, pico, cheese, and then I added guacamole. Not only was I impressed with the packaging, but everything was delicious. This was by far the most flavorful Spanish rice I have had since moving to Kansas. I was hesitant by the refried beans, because they are almost a liquid consistency, but the flavor was there as well. These were my first flautas in years and I was pleasantly surprised. I will definitely be ordering from them again.

Stoped by for a bean bowl at 1pm on a Monday. The lunch rush crowd had just left. Took the bowl to go. When I got home, I opened the bag and removed a bowl of beans, chicken, sour cream, guac, etc.;; a small bowl of rice (2 oz container); a small bowl of taco beef (2 oz); and a bag of tortilla chips. The chips were stale and flavorless. The chicken bowl was bland and contained barely a cup of food total. The sour cream, guac, and other toppings were missing. The rice was ok--very little seasoning but cooked well. The taco meat was pretty good. Additionally, the listed price was $11.95 + tax ($13.11 is what it should have been) but I was charged $17 and I didn't mark to give a tip since I tip in cash). Authentic Mexican cuisine? Not sure which part of Mexico they're basing the food off, but it's not like any part of Mexico I've been too. This is more like Mexican food for people who do not know what Mexican food is supposed to taste like. It's what a Midwest American family who has never traveled or read a recipe thinks Mexican food tastes like. In other words, it's boring, flavorless, and just not good at all. Don't waste your money.

Food was terrible and the restaurant looked as if it wouldn't pass inspection! I would not suggest this restaurant under any circumstances..........

Quick, casual Mexican cuisine that is affordable and tasty. They often have coupons online and saving money is always a positive in my book! This is a great place for someone who wants Mexican on the go. Everyone working is always kind and helpful.

In all the years I have lived here, I had never noticed this small place in the shopping center. A friend told me about, so I went. My son and I love it and it is not the Mexican restaurant of our choice in Johnson County. The staff is very friendly, and the food is delicious. I noticed that they do a significant amount of catering, so that is something to keep in mind. My son got a huge kick out the little robot that delivers the tray of food to the table. :)

The food is not worth the price at all. Might as well buy the frozen crap at Walmart and cook it yourself, get 3x as much for the same price and taste better too. It's like they are charging so much just to make up for a completely unnecessary robot server. It's embarrassing that "authentic" is even in the name when it's no where close. We are a Mexican family, we know authentic! This was lazy crap that was so small I'd barely count it as a snack. You're better off going to the Chinese buffet next door, now they are worth it. Like seriously, go anywhere else....

Door dashed this on a whim. So glad we did!! The food was great and all of the hot sauces were absolutely delicious! Can't wait to get some more when we go back to the KC area.
