I will be the first to admit that I am not the best when it comes to Sushi. I have specific things I like and some common flavours that I just don't. Mango for one. And it is in so many sushi options! Urg! But, here we go...This place is fun. The interior is nicely appointed and not crowded. The location has a separate room for large parties that doubles for secondary dining. The bar runs along one side and entertains guest by rolling in front of them and there are TVs usually with the game on if that is what you desire. The booths are high-backed and give decent privacy so you are eating with your group and not the entire restaurant.My standard here is to get one regular sushi roll (Dinosaur) and one fried roll (Godzilla). Though I have had many others and find them all delicious for what they are. I can also recommend the Hibachi here but this place is Sushi-forward and suggest you go with the roll first if you can. And if you get the big group of sharers together all the better... because then you can get rolls and hibachi! Also getting a large amount of rolls they present it on a wooden ship which is kind of a fantastic experience.Very good job on all the extras too! The apps are extremely good and the soups are amazingly delicious!I'll be here so if you see me say hi!

The food is top notch. Largest fish pieces of all the sushi restaurants I've tried in the KC Metro. The bar is well stocked with a variety of sakes, Japanese whiskey and fun cocktail options. The owner and staff are wonderful and will always welcome you and ask if you enjoyed the meal. They do a robust takeout business as well. My favorite option for Japanese food.

The sushi here is undeniably good. The fish is fresh, and the rice is well-seasoned, providing a satisfying base for each piece. The cuts of fish, particularly the tuna and salmon, were tender and flavorful, though I would have liked a little more variety in the specialty rolls. From the moment we walked in, the staff exuded warmth. She was very attentive without hovering, offering thoughtful suggestions when we didn't like the miso soup, she switched to more salad for us.

Went with friends. I'm used to sushi that doesn't look like it's been thrown into a blender, wrapped in rice paper and either slapped with super thin fish or much too much sauce. Ordered 3 different rolls - all literally were pink pulp wrapped in different types of sushi wrap. Egg drop soup was tasteless, but at least it was hot. Very understaffed. Our sweet server struggled to get everything we ordered to us - but what we ordered was accurate. Will definitely stick to our regular sushi place, not this one.

FPO and I found our neighborhood bar and surprisingly enough, it's a Kansas sushi restaurant. We've been there a couple of times. The last time we sat at the bar and watched. Just wanted a drink, something light to eat, and to unwind after a long day. Lol, everyone who walked in the door was treated like a long lost friend. The crowd looked like an equal mix of dine in and take away. Because we sat at the bar, we had the best seats in the house. Suzie (the bartender) is the best! She's attentive, knowledgeable about the menu items, and funny! We had a couple of drinks, a couple of plates of pretty good sushi, and a good time.

We tried this place since we live nearby. For the price, the food was pleasantly good. We ordered two sushi combos and kani salad. I would say the kani salad and maki rolls needed a touch more seasoning but overall the value makes up for it.

If I could give 4.5 stars I would. The lunch deals for sushi are some of the best value I've seen in a long time. You can get 3 sushi rolls, 1 crab rangoon and soup for $14. The rolls are really good and plentiful in portions. The service is fast and friendly. We got the Godzilla, Magic, and LA roll. La was our favorite then the magic roll then Godzilla but they were all so good and different. I'd get those three again next time. I ordered the hibachi shrimp meal and it was good for the value but not the best food I've ever had or anything. Next time I would get the sushi or try the teriyaki lunch special. We will definitely be back here when we are craving some sushi!

I thought the sushi was okay. The veggie tempura dish was better. My friend who doesn't normally have Japanese thought it was great. But the service was great. Sat at the bar and the staff were really nice and attentive.
