I had never gone to a water amusement park. It was definitely a fun experience. It has a little of everything for all ages.

I went here during the Zambezi Zinger opening and since they only let you in during reservations and I did the whole park the following day I decided to check out the park. They have their own separate entrance to the water park and they open at the same time, however, I saw that people could not use their season pass to get into the park earlier.I rode the Zambezi Zinger and some of the other rides for the first hour and then got something to eat and then arrive at the water park at 12pm. I ended up getting an all day locker for $15 dollars. I did have my pouch to store my phone and hold my keys and wallet, but it was uncomfortable. Plus I had my clothes in my bag. Renting the locker was easy and they had a lot of changing stations. Park gets very crowded, so I would suggest going early. What was really disappointing was half of the rides were closed on one of the busiest weekends. They had only the tube slide, racing slides and the big raft slides. What was closed were the body slides, aruba tuba and one other water ride. They ended up closing the lazy pool for an hour and a half in the middle of the busiest time at 2:30pm. They did not give an explanation. I did go to the lazy pool, but they ran out of the tubes, so I ended up going in there and walking the sucker. Most of the waits are around 30 to 40 minutes and went on the racing slides and the tubing. I did not go on the big raft ride was that requires 2 to 4 people and I was shy to ask people if I can join them. If I had to do it again, I would have gone on that Sunday as they just had a thunderstorm in the morning and park was empty when I checked it out. I was able to ride the racing slide 2 times and it was fun. Make sure you do go barefooted on the rides as they do not require slippers on them. The lines can be confusing as on the tubing ride as there is a line to wait for a tube and then once you get the tube you wait in the main line. There were people that went into the line without a tube. For the racing slides, there was no lifeguard so I grab the mat and went up. After waiting for 40 minutes, I wanted to reride so I ended up taking the mat and going up the hill without realizing there was now a line on the bottom of the hill with someone checking, so the lifeguard chased me up the hill and told me about it. Here is some tips, do not buy the fast lane pass, I am sure it is a waste of money. I saw you can use it on the racing slides, but then you do have to wait another 30 minutes. I did not see where else you can use it to your benefit.I did go to the different pools and the playground so I can get soaked by the bucket and I did have a fun time. I did get sunburned on my back as well. It goes get crowded vs. the main park. I wished they opened more of the rides especially if it was busy.

It had probably been 20 years since I'd given Oceans of Fun a solid try. I went once or twice as a kid and enjoyed the wave pool and lazy river but I've never been and still am not much of a pool person. So, when my family suggested a get together at Oceans of Fun I was pretty skeptical. You want me to pack up my family, spend an insane amount of money on tickets, and camp out in the heat at what I considered a glorified public pool all day in the 90 degree heat? I asked myself those questions and then went ahead and purchased the tickets. Not sure what that says about me but I have to say I was really proven wrong about this place. We arrive and it's much as I remember in its full midwestern theme park glory. If you are expecting Disney you might need a reality check. This is a mid tier theme park and it fits the bill for that in my opinion. The parking is dumb. You are out in a sprawling lot just cooking on a hot day as you unload your car and meander inside to the park. Pro tip on the parking - drive around and figure out where the entrance is before you park so you don't lose track of where you are. Better signage is much needed here. Once inside the park though, it's well shaded and honestly much more fun than I had envisioned. There are lockers to store your belongings and huge restrooms for changing if you didn't come ready to go. The restrooms aren't the cleanest but honestly they are about what I was expecting so not horrible but not amazing. I think it would be really hard to have impeccable water park restrooms though, just my opinion. Now, we were here with a two year old and I was really skeptical that she would have fun but holy cow did she enjoy herself. There is a huge splash pad area designed for little kiddos which she LOVED and she even had fun in some of the bigger pools with us adults. I was so shocked - we actually had an incredible time in the water with her and we actually stayed really cool despite it being one of the hottest days of the summer. We did end up eating lunch here as well that day and the food was pretty basic for a theme park, expensive, fried foods, and a long wait. That could absolutely be something for them to work on. But, like I said, overall we had a blast and left thinking we would for sure come back next summer which was not what I was expecting at all!

Decided to go with some family on Labor day weekend as a fun getaway as well as it being the last weekend that it is open and for a birthday. However upon arrival we notice several sections and rides being closed off on the pathways and pools. We thought nothing of it until getting to the lazy river the thing our group was most excited for was closed. We inquired about it from a lifeguard and he proceeded to tell us that they are "understaffed" Which can be understandable as I have noticed that many businesses struggle with that. As we walked towards the hurricane falls we could visibly see eight to ten lifeguards sitting either in the lazy river or on the posts sitting near the edge of water either talking gossip or on their phones. Like I said as well several other rides were closed summing up to about half the park with no explanation. Just roped off or with buoys sectioning off parts of pools giving less room to swim with people being on top of you.Makes no sense to me why on one of the biggest days for a water park where people would wanna cool of for the holiday it would CLOSE half of its amenities. If you're understaffed don't let people waste there money on tickets and close your park.Edit - Proceeded to express our concerns knowing we couldn't get a refund, manager scoffed in our face and said even getting the police won't do anything and proceeded to walk away from us, because we pointed out that there is no use in getting tickets if all the rides are closed.

This business is corrupt and racist policies. Also against the disabled.I dropped my kids 16 and 18 off bc I can't do any rides or water stuff They were there from 11 to 3. I stayed 1 mile away at a hotel. I picked them up for lunch to avoid a $20 hit dog etc. I then dropped them off around 4pm only to get a call saying they suddenly needed proof of age which they did not have? So I had to pay $30 to park and $50 to enter for 0.0 reason as I couldn't watch them which the worthless security said was required after 4pm I just sat in a chair for 3 hours I high heat.I think it's completely unfair to require a disabled 63yo to be forced to pay $80 other than to make money. I'm sure this policy was to prevent kids being dropped off after 4pm so minority can't do it who buy season passes. .

What a huge disappointment. The staff were incredibly slow moving, and barely communicative. Be prepared to spend a minimum of 30-45 minutes in line for food that is mediocre. Long lines for each ride as well- an average of 25-30 min. Will never go back on a weekend.

Not a family friendly parks. Rides shut down all day. Staff are not friendly and seemed inconvenienced by helping guest. Park hours and rules do match with online. Silver Dollar City is way better bag for your buck also you take drinks and snacks and they include a cave tour. Worlds of fun do not allow any drinks or snacks in their park.

Went labor day weekend on Saturday. Of coarse you pay full price and wander in and walk around to only find 2 rides open. We were told because school started they didn't have life guards. Fine, great, I get that. But people should be told the truth at the gait, or pay less money for entry. We wouldn't have wasted our money or time. Because the 2 rides that were open were backed up and took an hour to get on. And the small wave pool was bumper bodies. And the real kicker is, at every ride (I counted 7-8) that was closed, they had a employee just sitting there to tell you the "ride is closed". What a waste of staff.

Absolutely terrible! Half the rides were closed, including the lazy river. Go if you want to wait in line for an hour with a bunch of out of shape mid westerners for an 8 second ride. Absolutely horrendous!

Oceans of Fun - what a joke!!! Went on a Saturday. Arrived around 11:30. Paid for five adult tickets and $30 for parking only to find out that the big rides/slides were closed - apparently due to not enough help!!. Tried to get any sort of a refund (even a partial refund) and they would not offer anything. We were not there to go to worlds of fun, so having access to both parks was no bonus to us. Will never return! I can understand if a ride (or two) is closed for mechanical reasons or some thing, but for all of your large rides and a bunch of your food places to be closed because you don't have enough staff - that should be on you!!!
