O.G. Bandits BBQ

Had a layover here in Kansas City and decided to have some bbq for dinner. We ordered the dirty Mac & cheese and the combo burnt ends. Loved both of these! I wish there was an O.G. Bandits near where we lived, I would frequent this place allll the time.

I will begin by saying I don't typically eat a "real meal" in an airport. For a work trip, we had a delayed flight so me and my co-workers decided to try this. The service and atmosphere was outstanding. I don't feel I was in the airport. It provided an environment of a sit down restaurant that wasn't the typical airport rush. Next, BBQ was outstanding. We shared the sampler of four different meats. We could not eat it all. I would say the only recommendation would be the option for some smaller plates, as people are traveling and can't package up leftovers.

The Dirty Mac and Cheese for a total with tax of $21.22 was served warm, there was plenty of brisket, not enough Mac and cheese, plenty of tasty jalapeños that were cooked w seasoning, tomatoes that were cooked but I wanted more (just my preference), and over all good smoked bbq brisket flavor. I just wish that i got more Mac and cheese with the meat amount staying the same which was perfect. Then it would be perfect. The brisket was good quality and not many fatty filled pieces and the Mac and cheese had good quality cheese. Food came out fast and I wasn't disappointed that I bought this at the airport bc I hit the spot. Not salty ... fresh meat and Mac and cheese.

So, I want to start by apologizing as I don't feel I captured the best pictures. However, trust me when I say the chicken breast on this sandwich was so juicy, and I could taste the smoked flavor in every bite. I ordered the smoked chicken sandwich, which came with their restaurant made chips and a pickle. I would say the chips were similar to KC Masterpiece flavor. The sandwich was topped with cheese, bacon, lettuce, and tomatoe.We needed a bite to eat once we made it to the airport and got settled. Luckily, we had about an hour before our flight left to kill and decided to check out the restaurant options at our newly built airport.The service was immediate, and I always ask what the cashier or server would suggest. I figure they work there and have tried some of the menu items and can ultimately point me in the right direction on narrowing down what I should get. Because our time was limited, we elected to do the to go, so there was a bit of a wait for our food after ordering, but that was to be expected due to the airport rush. The ambiance was comparable to a to go style restaurant. Come on one way to order and exit out the opposite way once you receive your order. I did 4 stars because I felt the meal was overpriced, but what can you really expect when eating at the airport.

I was starving while waiting for my connecting flight and thought I'd give this place a try. It's a convenient "seat yourself" restaurant and while it was pretty crowded, I was able to quickly find a table. Upon ordering, I was disappointed to learn that on a Sunday evening, they had sold out of the corn ribs. I still ordered a 2 meat bbq plate with ribs, brisket, and Mac and cheese. For me, the Mac and cheese was the highlight of the meal... cheesy but not too rich. Unfortunately, the meats were pretty disappointing. The brisket was not tender at all and extremely dry. I had to soak it in the bbq sauce and even then, it wasn't satisfying. The ribs were just a tad bit more moist but on the saltier side. Given this place is known for bbq, I would've expected some tastier food.

I haven't given one star in a long time. I used to go to the barbeque place that was at this location for first year. It was great! For breakfast you could get pulled pork or brisket burritos - barbecue restaurant style breakfast. This place not so much. Check out my $19.09, before tax, lunch of sausage and one slice of bread. Really overpriced for what you get. No sides or drink included. I would have been disappointed if it were half the price. Hopefully in a year the next one coming will be better as they rotate this location. .

Liquid snack before getting on the plane. It's been a long time since I've gotten to the airport this early, but since I had time to kill, I had to go with another Yuengling and rep my fiancé's son as he reminds me time to time when it comes up, you can't get this beer west of the Rockies or Texas or something like that. Being america's oldest brewery you think they would've licked this problem by now since they've had the longest amount of time to figure it out... Lol. Anyway great little stop if you're going down the B gates here in Kansas City international airport. Looks like they got a decent little food menu to choose from also.

In the airport waiting on a connecting flight. There's a bad here and seating for the tables are not bad. Matt was my server, who was very polite and attentive. The cornbread and macaroni and cheese were good and the margarita was so so. I got some burnt tips and pulled pork for my husband so I'll post another review with his thoughts. I recommend this place to others.

I did take out. The food was not hot and have no flavor! So it was such a disappointed. I was not far from the restaurant to my gate. I ordered the loaded mac and cheese. It definitely could use more cheese. I wish they had the shredded cheese on top. That might have help it out. For $19 that is a disappointment. I was hungry and just about all the restaurants here in the airport had bbq sauce. The cashier was nice. That's about it. The portion size, food temp and taste is why I gave it 1 star. Disappointed. I definitely don't recommend this restaurant. I went back and ask to speak to a manager and even after speaking with the manager her suggestion is did I want her to fix me another one. That's after I showed her the picture? I told her no she could have at least reimburse me something back? On my return flight I will not visit them again!!! I will make sure to have a sandwich with me!! Airport food is overpriced and it suck!! Even at new airports!!!

My wife and I had some food before our flight. We got the 3 meat bbq plate for $33.89 and it was a waste of money. We both thought the 3 meats were less than ok. Our mac n cheese was cold, like out of the refrigerator cold. We told our waiter and he said he would get that fixed up. The second bowl was cold aswell. The corn bread was even colder. The beans were very hot but not very good. I will say that Matt is awesome, very friendly and attentive. By Kansas City standards, this food barely deserves a 1 star.
