We love going to this family run Japanese restaurant! The decor, music, and ambiance is top notch. The food is amazing. We love the lunch bento box - gyoza (potstickers), miso soup, side salad, California roll, and your choice of entree with rice of course. The chicken katsu is top notch, and so is their shrimp tempura. Friendly faces with great service rounds out this hidden gem. Definitely check them out for dine in or carry out! Awesome spot for lunch!!

I would like to say that I have been coming to Niji since I was very young! I've loved this place forever! I believe it is a family run business and the staff is always kind and efficient. The decor and atmosphere is also quite nice. The sushi is good. No complaints. Compared to my last two reviews, I would say it is nice. Sushi House still has the best tuna, Ika for the salmon. I would say Niji's hibachi style selections are AMAZING! I ended up with a fried roll this time, and I thought it held its crunch very well.Of course I will be back here again when I am in the area!

Decent for Olathe area!Ordered online, was told to come in 25-30 minutes later. Came in 30 minutes later and still had to wait another 5 minutes for my meal.Love, love the decor. Very kawaii with so much lucky cat art--and I'm a huge cat lover, so I loved the ambiance.I ordered the three roll lunch: salmon roll, tuna roll, spicy salmon roll--also salmon roe nigiri and a yellow tail and scallion hand roll. The salmon roe came as sashimi instead, on a cucumber slice. The roe was also... old. There were several eggs that were completely hardened, and should not have been used. If you looked, it was obvious that the middle portion of the roe was shadowed and hardened. I didn't think that the spicy salmon would have crunchies in it, ive not seen that before, but I should have asked. I do have a gluten sensitivity so I was on the toilet soon after my meal, sadly. Would definitely try the place again, there's not a lot of sushi places in this area. I'll be sure to ask about gluten in their food next time.....

Read other reviews as well! I would not recommend for lunch unless you like the basic of the basic rolls then this place is perfect for you. I asked for shrimp tempura during lunch thinking it had shrimp, avocado, cucumber, and lettuce. Nope just the shrimp and rice. All the other sushi was tasteless. The salad and mushroom soup were the best part of the meal. This place use to be five stars about 2 years ago. I'll have to try again on a different day!

We just tried Niji for the first time this week. This family of four all agreed that Niji was the best sushi we have had in awhile. I had their Sashimi Deluxe which I believe included tuna, white tuna, salmon, red snapper, and yellowtail. It was all fresh and delicious. I will definitely order it again.

Nothing special. Fast service and the jalapeños was good. Mediocre food at best, tried a few rolls and the taste was bland covered by sauces. Not what I am used to for sushi.

Wishing we read more of the reviews before coming here. Our experience was very similar to all of the other poor reviews. Tasteless rolls with no flavor or sauces as described on the menu. Two of our rolls that included spicy crab was only dry, shredded, tasteless crab. The Kani salad was also tasteless and only had a couple pieces of cucumber. Service was terrible. Our waitress was short with us and inattentive. She did not get our order correct and forgot to bring us our side of fried rice. We had to wait an unreasonable amount of time to get anyone to come check on us while waiting for a box. We were the only customers in there at this point. The ambiance and decor was nice here. It'd be a great place if food and service were good.
