My wife and I came to Kansas City to see the Truman Library and to spend some time exploring and then on to the Ozarks. We are also enthusiastic photographers and arranged with Matt to show us some locations and help us to get some photos. He was amazing. He is very considerate, friendly, relaxed and personable, and handles himself extremely well. We had a morning and late afternoon/evening shoot. He took us all over Kansas City to many iconic places and some hidden gems. I doubt we would have gotten to a quarter of the locations without his help. He is also an excellent photographer. We highly recommend Matt.

I recently had my first 1-on-1 class with Matt and it was nothing short of awesome! I was gifted a camera and knew very little about photography and capturing pictures going into my first class. Leaving the class I feel like I have all of the necessary tools to talk about and capture some great photos (and in MANUAL mode!). He was very easy to talk with and an excellent teacher. His patient and welcoming personality made it very easy to ask questions whenever I was confused, and I even got to practice taking pictures with him before I left. I will definitely be back for another class!

I've rented studio space from Matt and taken lessons from him in both workflow and studio lighting. First, the space was built to be a photo studio... not converted space that just gets by. It makes an excellent first impression with clients and is very versatile. The large windows allow for an abundance of natural light. If studio strobes are needed, there is plenty of space for whatever kind of setup a photographer can imagine.From a teaching perspective, Matt is great. He's knowledgeable, patient (very willing to answer questions), and is really skilled in explaining beyond the steps... "why" things are done as opposed to simply "how" things are done. The big benefit to me is that understanding the "why's" helps me to think and create rather than just following a lighting or workflow formula. All said, I'm planning future sessions to expand on what I've been practicing. I recommend Matt and his studio without reservation.
