My family and I have been coming here for 13 years. It's perfect for young ones to explore. As a family we have enjoyed going since our son was very young and have enjoyed it as he has gotten older as well. I now volunteer and serve on the board. My son helps with camps and holiday events. The trails are well kept, the building has some great educational exhibits and it's just a beautiful place to walk and relax. There is a great stream on the property as well. The staff and volunteers are extremely knowledgeable. There are many fun activities throughout the year for all to enjoy. It's a liberty gem!

Nice peaceful trails. An easy walk with only a few precarious bridges, and one trail bridge spur seemed to be cut off by the waterway with no passage. All in all a nice trail system, worth it if you are in the area.

Nature-loves rejoice...Martha Lafite offer a nice mixture of terrain with paved and un-paved trails winding through forest, streams and fields. I love relaxing here in the evening with a stroll through the fields. Spring is the best time when the wild flowers are blooming. Unfortunately, furry friends aren't allowed, but if you are looking for a nice place to stroll, this nature sanctuary is highly recommended.

The only two negative reviews are from out of state people who were were just mad their dogs weren't allowed to defile the Nature Center. I think that says it all. The world doesn't revolve around your dog, people. If you can't ever leave your dog at home, I highly recommend you seek mental health assistance, because you need it.

Martha Lafite has such fun programs. It is a Wildlife Sanctuary and I was there last evening for Fairy Tale Forest. What a fun fundraiser. I cannot believe how friendly and patient the staff is on site. A lady was entering with a dog, Martha's rules state no pets, but the person working was so helpful and nice trying to get her in; asking the ada questions to verify the dog was a service animal. THe dog was wearing the fake service dog vest and the lady became more rude and obnovious while the employee stayed friendly and even apologized. That is when she got really nasty, he remained friendly and asked her to leave. Please everyone be aware - Wildlife Sanctuarys do not allow pets. If your animal is a service animal, please have your document with you or do not ask to enter. Thank you.

Was refused entry because the staff is incorrectly trained on how to handle a person with a disability that has a service dog! When I explained the ADA laws the man behind the counter was condescending and disrespectful. If there had been more time I would have called the sheriff's department to help but this place isn't worth it.

What a wonderful sanctuary! My 91-year-old mother and I visited this morning and were thrilled to watch two indigo buntings flit here and there through the trees and grasses for over an hour. Mike, a guide to the sanctuary, gave us a wealth of information about the birds, local habitats, and environment. It was informative and exciting. The electric-blue buntings have a beautiful song and landed on bushes just 10 feet from where we stood transfixed by the melodies. They truly looked like flying jewels! Just when we got ready to go, a brilliant tanager flew by as well. A wonderful, memorable morning of bird watching! Thank you, Mike, for all the tips, and thank you, Martha Lafite Thompson, for such a lovely sanctuary gift!
