We stopped by Mr. Les for a quick lunch. It's a bit of a hole in the wall place, decor is scarce but the waiter and waitresss are all nice. You mark what you want on the menu which I found helpful as the menu is quite vast. I ordered the Vietnamese coffee which was an absolute delight. Strong coffee with a not too sweet but still balanced taste, which they serve in a cup that you mix and pour over ice. There were some coffee grounds in mine but it didn't effect the experience one bit. The bento box is a great deal at 15 bucks that comes with soup, salad, a protein, rice and a sushi roll. The miso soup was well seasoned and delicious, the house salad was made with romaine which I appreciated over the traditional iceberg and the salad dressing was a nice miso/sweet dressing. I picked chicken teriyaki which again was perfectly seasoned and the chicken was well cooked. My only disappointment was the sushi itself, the filling was a bit bland and the rice was crunchy. The spicy mayo was also sweet which I wasn't a huge fan of. Overall they had solid dishes and it was a good experience, but I wouldn't go back for the sushi.

Forgot to take pix Little place been around a long time. We finally went for first time and it was GOOD. The prices are really reasonable for sushi. I'm not a sushi expert by any stretch but loved everything we had. The wife got general tso's plate and the flavor was good not spicy. Surprised there's no kids menu or ANY American offerings for those that come in a party but don't like Asian food. It's not quiet or romantic by any stretch It's very bright and loud but lots of seating and seats at the sushi bar.

Did some research and chose to drive over to try Mr. Le's. It was 7:16, and they were open until 8pm according to the website. All of their online ordering options - pickup and delivery - were still available. We walked up to the door and a sign told us they took orders until 7:30pm. All of the lights were on. The door was locked.

The BEST sushi in KC. A true gem of the northland. The lennox roll is the best roll you'll ever have. Even my three year old threw down on several pieces. They have great salads and miso soup! Fried rice and lo mein are great too!

Friendly staff and amazing sushi rolls! We ordered six rolls and they all were amazing!! It's not the typical sushi atmosphere. It's more like a small town diner feel. I actually enjoyed the experience!! I would suggest bringing a sweater or jacket because it's on the cooler side. I will be back whenever I have the craving for sushi

Um, all in all, it's more than okay. My favorite was David's Sushi Roll. But other that, I did Not like the Rock & Roll one BUT I do not like seaweed and I get soy paper and I know that could affect the flavor. Service was really good and the waitresses were really friendly. Being out of town, we had some questions and she was to help.

Overall, the food was okay. The raw sushi was not the freshest I've ever had. The combination of ingredients are what you expect. The calamari was really good and I liked that there wasn't that much breading. The spicy mayo that came with it was interesting - I think ponzu or something citrusy would have complemented the fried food a bit better. The service was attentive and food came out quickly, which I appreciated! This hole in a wall restaurant serves fusion Asian foods - Vietnamese and Japanese. Walking in, the place is well kept and clean. There was someone constantly wiping down the tables and booths. However, there is a bit of clutter in the corner that adds to the mom/pop feel.
