There's a sign that says no indoor seating. We sat at the picnic table outside even though it was a little chilly. It was fine in the sun. Inside there is a table with chairs and barstools at a countertop but I presume that is only for waiting? We each had one of the two specials. My husband had chicken fried chicken which had a really small piece of chicken. He said it was good but very small. The potatoes and gravy, and corn and roll were fine. I had the tater tot casserole special. It was hot and the ground beef was very delicious. I dislike American processed cheese with a passion so I wasn't crazy about the fact that the top of the tater tots had a layer of American cheese. It would have been great with grated cheddar, or any real cheese. The roll was fresh but I skipped eating the margarine--I just can't eat "butter" made out of vegetable oil, and the bread didn't need it. The corn was just corn but it was hot. I got a cupcake. Today's flavor was strawberry. On my first bite, I thought maybe the sliver of strawberry on top tasted a little underripe. But on all my following bites, I still tasted something a little off. I couldn't figure out if it was the cake or the frosting. I would not get the strawberry cupcake again.

Great food but waiting in line to get it is ridiculous! They do a land office business but it takes too long to go thru their drive thru. There almost no parking and I have pretty much given up on driving a mile out of my way to find a line that is so long it would take 30+ minutes to get thru it. They need to move to a bigger place with parking. I know I could call in an order but then you can't get in to get it!

I don't even know what the food is like yet, but I called Mr. G's today for some soup and chili for my Aunt and Uncle. They are really sick with almost pneumonia and I live too far away to take food to them. I ordered 2 16 oz cups of chicken noodle soup and 2 of chili....total came to just $17. Plus they made arrangements with me to pay and not charge my Aunt. All she has to do is drive to the window and pick up the food. Such nice people too, at least on the phone lol.

Great food! The pork and brisket sliders are delicious. If you love Mr. G's, you should check out Cedar Ridge on the weekend!

For those who are fans of Cedar Ridge's noodle soups, brisket, pork, or biscuits & gravy but are bummed out about Cedar Ridge's limited hours, this is your (food) salvation! The owners of Cedar Ridge opened Mr. G's a few months ago and offer a lot of the beloved dishes that their main restaurant serves. Before I get to the food, there are several great things that make Mr. G's a great addition to the Atchison restaurant scene/community. How do I love thee, Mr. G's? Let me list the ways:* It has a drive-thru. So if you have a sleeping child in the back, you can grab a coffee or breakfast sandwich and go on your way.* Unlike Cedar Ridge, they offer a la carte menu items. In the mood for Cedar Ridge's homemade chicken noodle soup but aren't hungry enough to eat the other 2 pounds of food for $12 given to you when you sit down at Cedar Ridge? No worries. Grab a cup for a few bucks.* Reasonable prices. I ordered a homemade breakfast biscuit sandwich with sausage, egg, and cheese for a little over $3--more expensive that McDonald's but WAAAAY better. You can order a salad for lunch for less than $2, I think, or a beef brisket or pulled pork slider for about the same price. Plus, the prices include tax and are rounded to the nearest quarter.* Convenient hours. It's open Monday through Friday, 6:30am - 2pm (I believe).* It's on Main St., right next to Raven Liquor.* From what I've heard from others, they only have a few full-time employees but have several part-time employees who go to school in town (either at a high school or at Benedictine). They also use a payment technology called G-Bucks that was designed by a Benedictine student. As for the food, I'd stick to the fare that made Cedar Ridge so popular. I'm a fan of the flavorful biscuit sandwich and the sliders (only had the beef brisket, and it's just as tender and has the same, or a similar sauce, as the BBQ ribs from Cedar Ridge). They have daily meal specials and cupcake specials, which some people really like. I wasn't blown away by the cupcake I ordered once--kind of tasted like it started with a box mix but they jazzed it up, but I'd be willing to try another cupcake another time and be proven wrong. I also ordered a soft pretzel once that tasted like the stuff you get in the frozen food aisle of the supermarket. They also offer coffee drinks such as lattes, but from what I sense it's from a coffee machine that mixes everything inside itself before dispensing all of the coffee, milk, and flavorings into a cup rather than brewing espresso and then adding that to steamed milk. It's not bad, but I prefer a real espresso drink.Mr. G's isn't a fancy-shmance brasserie, but it's a great place to get a quality cheap and quick bite. Support good food and support Atchison by going to Mr. G's.

Mr. G's had the absolute best breakfast in town!! The drive through makes it super convenient as well as being able to text your order ahead of time and picking up ready to go. Their service is great and our entire family picks Mr. G's when we treat ourselves out to breakfast. The kids love their biscuits and gravy and sausage burritos and they accommodate dairy free every time for our daughter who has an intolerance. We love their dynamite burritos with a little kick of jalapeños. Definitely a good choice when it comes to quick and yummy breakfast in Atchison!!

Had the tenderloin. Good flavor. Expected more for the $6.50. asked for mashed potatoes instead of pasta salad, was upcharged, then got instant potatoes. I might try them again. Everyone else seems to love them.
