We came to Mr Fix It to look for a washer/dryer set, as our dryer was no longer working. We chose a set for a reasonable price, and Tom said it would be delivered the next day between 3pm-6pm. However, by 5:30pm the next day they had not arrived, so my husband called the store to ask about the ETA of the delivery. He was told that the slip of paper with our address and phone number had been misplaced. My husband had texted Tom, so we thought he had my husband's number in his phone. I called to ask if they could give us a discount on the $120 delivery fee due to the mix-up, but Tom told my husband that instead he would find some other way to compensate us. He was very apologetic. The delivery team came the next day, and they were even a little early. They hauled away our old washer/dryer. Unfortunately, we had not measured the new washer/dryer, and they did not fit down our basement stairs. The delivery team did try their very best to move them down, but it just didn't work. It was definitely our fault for not measuring beforehand. We went back to Mr Fix It to exchange the set for a new washer/dryer set. Luckily, they had one ready that would fit. Unfortunately, we had to pay another $120 moving fee (though again it was our fault for not measuring first). Tom also said that he normally charges a 20% restocking fee, but that he would waive this restocking fee due to the circumstances. Moral of the story-measure first! The delivery guys said they didn't have the right part to set-up the new washer and dryer that evening, so they returned the next day with the right part to set it up. The washer and dryer are both working fine now. Overall, I would say that while our experience was a little complicated, we would recommend Mr Fix It if you are looking for reasonably-priced appliances.

This place is awesome! Everyone there is very nice & helpful. I guess I was the 1st one to use the chat feature on their website this week. It worked great. I asked about fixing a power washer. They got back to me in about 5 minutes via text. They're fair with their prices. If you're looking for small appliances like vacuums, mixers, etc, stop by to see what he has. I saw a Vitamix in the store this week. Those are fantastic blenders & worth the price. I highly recommend stopping by or giving them a call.

Having just moved into Overland Park, my wife and I were needing some appliances. Specifically, we needed a washer and dryer. Me being me and not wanting brand new, I decided to shop local. After much perusing, I found Mr. Fix It online.Tom from Mr. Fix it showed us around with exemplary customer service and helped us find a perfect GE top load washer. With professional delivery and installation the day following our purchase, before we knew it, we were washing our clothes that night. After having had this washer for about a week now with no issues, I can say I'm genuinely happy with my purchase! This specific model washer has an immensely large capacity compared to what I've used in the past, and I love it. I just wish it didn't lock after starting the cycle. Tom knows how to treat his customers right, he has a repeat customer out of me.-Brendan

I was going to leave a 3-star review based on what I write in the next paragraph. Today when I went to pick up my espresso machine I was told I needed to bring in my ticket (which I wasn't told was a requirement) so I had to get a photo of it. The employee made sure to correct me I had only waited 3 weeks for the machine, not 4, which seemed a moot point to debate with a customer. I then asked them to wear a mask (this was the 2nd employee with no mask on). They put it on but debated that it's not necessary because he already had COVID. I explained that's not how transmitting diseases works but they ignored me (like, turned their head, tried to change the subject). I reported them to Johnson County, I was appalled to learn they blatantly were ignoring the health mandates. This plus their attitude towards my patronage made me completely dissatisfied, I would truly look anywhere else before going to them again.(Review before I picked up my machine)I needed my espresso machine repaired. I dropped it off with them 4 weeks ago. First, the employee wasn't wearing a mask. I wasn't given an estimate on time (which is fine, they didn't know what was wrong with it) BUT later I learned they only can do espresso repairs once a week with a special technician (I found out only after calling for an update). So when that day came around, I found out they didn't get to my machine, so it would be another week. Then the next week (2 weeks since dropping it off) I learned the employee who took down my problem didn't tell the technician the full issue, so it took another week just for them to understand what wasn't working. Then, they said the part was in and would be fixed within a week. Finally, (3 weeks later) they called me the day the tech was there and said they didn't have my part after all, there was a mix up. So finally 4 weeks later is was ready and fixed. The amount of time it took and lack of communication and transparency puts it down to 3 stars for me.

Tom has been helping our family throughout this whole Covid-19 with our washer and dryer that we bought from RAC a few years ago. Sadly, our washer gave out and it was time to just buy a new one. Tom helped my husband pick one out and was very knowledgeable and thorough. Prices are reasonable. My husband bought a washer today, Tom delivered and installed it for us in the same day! I had the pleasure of meeting Tom when he came to deliver and install, he is such a sweetheart and he was such a joy to have in our home. I definitely recommend Mr. Fix It for any of your appliance needs/sales! THANK YOU TOM

This is the second time trying to use this company, and I believe they use the word 'diagnostic' way too much and probably mean nothing will be done and they take you for $40-50 on the diagnostic fee. I feel duped twice now, and now see from the reviews the word scam comes up a lot in one star. I would agree that the company itself is running a scam and in my opinion does no diagnostic work unless the part replacing is cheap with very little time to repair. If you can save yourself the time, this place in my opinion is a complete Scam as so many others have mentioned. Lesson learned the hard way I suppose!Adding to my original review after speaking with owner...I'm not mad at all actually, it's my fault. I made the choice to come to your store. Where the owner is being dishonest is the diagnostic part, he said controller was broken and that's not true. My controller panel was working, it was the motor or fan in the back overheating. His tech probably researched the parts first and saw nothing was available. Once again this is my fault because i should have researched parts, but I didn't think a company would just take my money not doing any diagnostic work. The word they should use is 'research' instead of diagnostic like a car dealership diagnostic is just a scam. You can go to O'Riley or Advanced auto store to get a diagnostic check with your car for free. My only ask from customers is don't be foolish like me, and trust diagnostic is actually being done. I got took for $50 but learned a good lesson that this company isn't transparent about diagnosing your problem with an appliance, and if anything they just want to take your money like a car dealership who also takes a diagnostic fee when they're offered around the corner for free. For the customer who don't want to throw their money away. I would simply ask your tech if parts for your appliance are readily available and if he tells you I don't know because he's trying to take your money below is a few sites you might want to quickly check. http://searspartsdirect.comhttps://www.appliancepartspros.comHopefully this review is helpful for people, once again I'm not upset at all. Just won't be making the same mistake or utilizing this place ever again. Also glad it wasn't more than $50, feel bad for some of these other customers who gave one star.

This is such a great place! Went to check out a washer and dryer as my boyfriend and I were moving into a place where we needed them. As it was our first time buying a major appliance, we were worried about it being a bit daunting. Tom was nothing but knowledgeable, kind and courteous! I will admit I was skeptical of the type of cable we needed to plug into the wall, and Tom assured me, and he was right! We bought the set, and it has been amazing still after a year! Tom genuinely cares about taking care of you. Definitely recommend Mr. Fix it for any of your appliance needs/sales!
