Momma Ann'z Fried Fish, Shrimp & Chicken

This review is for the experience I had on Wednesday July 31st, which was my first Ever experience there! It was ridiculously delicious! Gonna be straight forward about this one because honestly,   it was Upsetting for how good that food was! I went with something simple that day. Some fried shrimp, catfish with a side of green beans and their fried okra. Frick'n Delicious! All of it! Even their green beans were bomb! I have high expectations because of places like this LOL! And Because of fantastic places like this it complications things doesn't it? o____o I'm going back. It's that simple. And the employee working that day was just awesome. Down to earth, awesome. And super patient lol.. for us new customers and such. ^__^ He called himself "D". Such a sweet person he was. I look forward to my 2nd time there! The seasoning on their shrimp was truly something.. I'm still to this Day really impressed with how amazing they were! Again, sorry for my delayed review and all! Life has been Very eventful for me for sure!

This was my 1st visit since Lurfis was in this location. The fish was more like fish sticks, cut thin and there was more matter than fish. The smoked wings were over cooked or been there all day. Definitely wasn't giving fresh. The Mac n cheese was too saucy with no flavor. The green beans were over cooked and mushy. IF I go back I'm going to try thr fried wings and shrimp because surely those won't be messed up. I only gave 3 stars because the service was good and the restaurant was clean and tidy.

Hidden gem in Blue Springs! Good food and service. Food cooked hot to order. Homemade trader sauce is a must! Great little business. Portion sizes are great for the price!

I'm so pleased to have found this tiny, inconspicuous little spot tucked away in the strip mall in front of Price Chopper along 40 Hwy. First, the customer service skills of the man behind the counter were the best I have encountered in a long, long time. I suspect he is either part owner or at least family to the owners. From the moment I walked in the door I saw he was determined to make each person who walked in feel comfortable. I told him I'd never visited before and he asked if I wanted to try one of their smoked chicken wings. As I was contemplating wings in the first place, I gratefully accepted his offer. They were wonderful. Not just the tender fall off the bone texture, but the cherry wood smoke really gave the wings a flavor punch. They also have fish (tilapia, catfish/basa & whiting) shrimp and frog legs. They had several sides including greens, sweet potato fries, mac & cheese, fried okra, red beans and rice and corn fritters. There might be more, those are the just ones I remember. I opted for a order of wings, asking for half fried and half smoked were not a problem. For my sides I went with the mac & cheese and red beans and rice. I prefer baked mac & cheese but I understand why restaurants don't offer it frequently. Theirs was good and made from scratch. Of course the smoked wings were excellent. The fried wings had an interesting flavor to them. They're dipped in a cornmeal type coating and I almost tasted a little... I don't know... Citrus? It was an unexpected flavor but good nonetheless. Red beans and rice were also good.I finished off with a piece of your sunshine cake and it was delicious.I'll look forward to coming back and trying the fish. They offer it fried blackened and steamed. And I've got to try that fried okra too. Really pleased to have found this little spot in blue Springs and would encourage others to check it out. While I was sitting in the front area waiting for my food, there was a steady stream of regular customers that came in, and that's always a good sign. You know your business is appreciated when you visit this place.

Momma Ann'z was great! The staff was very welcoming and polite. The fish was seasoned to perfection and the fried chicken was good too (just a little less seasoned than the fish)! Our order was made fresh, not to mention their tartar sauce is homemade and DELICIOUS. The fried okra and sweet potato fries were also just as great. Will definitely make a second trip while I'm in town!

I would have given them 0 stars if I could. To be clear, I did go late in their day. It was right before 7pm. But I ordered a 2 PC fish filet dinner with red beans and rice and greens. I also ordered a 2 piece smoked chicken dinner with the same 2 sides, and I ordered a side of corn nuggets. Everything shared the same spice blend and had WAAAAY TOOO MUCH of it on the food. So it all tasted basically the same. It was overwhelming and awful. The fish was cold, thin, and greasy. The chicken was dried out. They forgot to put the corn nuggets in my bag, so when I got home with the food it was too late to call them because they had already closed. I called the next day and spoke with the owner and told him about our experience with the food, Anna about the forgot corn nuggets that I had paid for. I was VERY nice about it. I'm always kind to all people, as I Believe you should never be loud, hateful, or rude to anyone; there is no excuse for it. But that man I spoke to was the rudest, most hateful person I had spoken to in ages. In the end, I just told him I didn't want a placement or monetary credit for the corn nuggets that I had paid for the night before, and that I would never be coming back to his restaurant. He just said a couple choice words I won't repeat and promptly hung up on me. WOWEEE... I really doubt someone that runs their business like that will stay in business for any extended period of time anyway... and felt justified due to that fact. I don't recommend that place, so go at your own risk!

Amazing food! Hands down the best fish and wings around! Try this restaurant! You will not be sorry.

Daaammm!!!! These catfish nuggets are the truth. Lately, I've been getting these rubbery fillets. Not here, they were tender and fried to perfection. None of the sides disappointed either. I got coleslaw, red beans & rice, greens and potato salad. They all were amazing. The spiciness on the greens was perfect. The owner and his son make you feel welcomed and comfortable too. Too many places just want to take your money and get you on your way. Here you can tell hospitality is key. I'm from out of town but this will be a must stop, every single time I'm in KC.

Shrimp were huge. Fried mushrooms excellent. Workers were very friendly. Very small inside. Food was made to order
