This is the place to be on First Friday.Part art gallery and part music venue. The art gallery rotates presenting artists. It also sells selected works and hosts interactive events like painting classes. The music venue schedules mostly electronic and dance-based performers. The events are usually scheduled on weekend evenings however special events will pop up from time to time. It's a little small inside, but the sound is pretty good.Lights are okay.A cash bar with limited beers and mixed drinks is available.

MOD is one of my favorite galleries to go to for First Friday's. They always have different, conversation-starting art at various price points. Inside, they typically offer a DJ, cash bar, and various local vendors. Out the back door, through their studio space, they usually provide an outdoor cash bar and live music. On First Friday's there are usually people dancing out back to the live music. Throughout the year they host events which you can find via their Facebook. Don't miss this unique KC Crossroads experience!

Was attending 1st Friday's was catching the vibes of the atmosphere on mcgee street. As soon as you walked through the entrance of security they had a bar outside for those who wanted to catch the vibes. Once you enter into the gallery you are taken back by the corky and different pieces that you see on display. There is also a live dj that was playing that tied into the film and vibe of their atmosphere.

I think this is hilarious. MọD gallery. Do you they know that MOD was an 80's thrash/spoof band that arose from the ashes of SOD (Speak English or Die)? Probably not, which adds to the hilarity.

Love MOD. Any first fridays this is the place to be, it gets bumping! Upgrade from my underage days-live DJ is usually spinning now, setting a rad vibe. What hasn't changed one bit? The Titos sponsored bar that is donation only for Titos straight up and mixers range from $3-$4 and the drinks are always poured right for a Friday night...especially if you opt for that straight Titos option. The art work is pretty trippy, sometimes borderline contemporary but never "dark", with painted mannequins dotting the gallery that have been there for well over five years now. And walking back through the disheveled art storage space to get outside to the back bar, that barely faces crossroads-through terrain of parking lot and city street and crossroads parking lot-is always a fun journey, if you pay attention to the rejected art destined to this purgatory you may even see something that catches your eye-I know I have! Sometimes on first fridays the music spills over to the back bar setup, or back alley if you wanna get technical, and you get two different DJs and two separate white plastic cups with the TITOS logo on em haha. Support this local gallery, it's easy to find too because the front is "graf'ed" up or for those not in the know, graffiti is how they choose to represent the name MOD on the front of their building, so Next first friday make MOD your first and last stop-tip generously for your Titos and maybe buy some kc (alt) art while you're at it!

This place is a First Fridays regular for me. It's an art gallery with a distinct vibe that is at once edgy but also not uninviting. Some may find some of their art a little off-putting. They're known for having live, loud music and painted mannequin torsos. On First Fridays, they have food catered in (free) and also a bar with liquor and beer and soda. The beverages are also free but word to the wise, you are really expected to tip. Seriously, throwing in a couple $1 or a $5 is worth it to support this place. If you head around back, you'll find yourself in a winding hallways crammed wall to wall with paintings and drawings. The back space is full and cluttered and usually crowded but worth it!

I had my 50th birthday party at MOD Gallery recently and it was amazing! Got a DJ, brought in some food, and it was a blast. They have a great lighting and sound/video setup, which makes it perfect for a dance party. The owner is wonderful and so were his staff. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Great gallery space with a hip downtown vibe. Stop by on First Fridays for the full experience - view local art, grab a drink and listen to some great regional bands and DJs.
