Minsky's Pizza

We had lunch here today and I wish I would have snapped a picture of our food! They have a fantastic lunch special the includes a pizza slice, salad, and a drink for $7! It's a steal. The salad was fantastic. It was just a basic house salad but that homemade dressing was DELISH. Our pizza slices came out next... each slice took up an entire plate. It was so good! Definitely recommend. Our waitress was great as well!

Well it's been about seven months and we decided to give our local Minsky's another try. I'm not really sure why I was convinced it would be better, and I'd be met with decent service and a good experience, but I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and unfortunately this spot is just not it anymore. I will say that in general I really like Minsky's pizza. It's a solid pie, with great flavor, and IMO is a KC icon when it comes to pizza. The issue here is with this location and the service/ food quality. We recently ordered delivery, and I'll start out by saying that Minsky's is not a cheap pie. I'd say it's not unusual for a delivery order to be around 40/50 dollars for a pizza and an appetizer. I don't mind paying the premium for a better than average pizza, but when you get your order and it doesn't live up to basic expectations it's really just not acceptable, especially at this price point. Our last order was a large papa minsky's pizza and an order of cheese sticks. Our kiddo is deep into her cheese stick era so I was dismayed when I got them and they were completely inedible. If you know me, I'm not one to exaggerate on this kind of thing. We opened the box they came in, and someone had literally piled them all on top of each other, with cheese and sub cooked pizza dough just all over the place. It had congealed into a mass of bread and cheese, and as much as I tried to get something that looked like a cheese stick out of the mass, nothing I could create looked or tasted enough like the real deal for anyone to eat them. They ultimately ended up in the trash. As for the pizza? It was OK. The flavor was there, but once again someone had taken a THICK stack of pepperoni and placed it about 10 'ronis deep all over the pie, and it just felt like nobody took any time to think about how this pizza was bing constructed. The sad thing is that we get consistently better service from Marcos down the street, which isn't locally owned, and is a massive chain. We will probably keep going there for the time being as Minsky's just tends to let us down time and time again.

This is a favorite spot for our family each time we visit Kansas City. There are loads of pizza options the ambience is super cool just casual Kansas City vibe. We've eaten at this location once as well as order a pizza to take back to our hotel, which is perfect for our tired, hungry soccer players. They are able to accommodate gluten-free needs, which is helpful for my celiac body although I do enjoy their salad!

Food- plentiful portions of appetizers, and always good pizza (IMHO best in KC)Service. - pretty good even when slamm0 ed, all tables full, and a take out line of like 5 - 10 people.Ambiance - pizza joint not much more....KC joe's pizza is back for a limited time as of 10/30/23.Their other year round pizza's are solid tooWings are good (giant, regular, boneless) and big portions.Nice Gluten Free/Cauliflower Crust options.A whole non-wheat Gluten Free menu as well.Peppercorn Ranch made in house is great with their big salads too.

Overland Park, KSYuck! The only reason why I gave this two stars is because the waitress was so incredibly nice.I wasn't even going to Yelp this place. But then after I ate my pizza, I decided it was necessary to save others. The place is small but deep. If you walk into the restaurant the seating goes far back. The staff is very busy taking care of to-go orders. We dined in. Ordered one large pizza, half Marghetita, half Canadian bacon and hamburger. The Margherita pizza comes with sliced fresh tomato, basil, garlic, mozzarella, and ricotta. There wasn't any ricotta cheese on my pizza. The pizza dough tasted like a homemade pizza with cheap products. I don't see why this place is so popular. I got one slice of tomato on each piece of pizza. The tomato on my pizza was one small tomato, that was the size of a 50 cent piece. Not only was the tomato small and sparse, it wasn't even ripe.The beer menu is weak. Would suggest a wider variety of draft beer choices. You either had a hoppy light beer, a hoppy,hoppy light beer, or just a light beer. Nothing dark, nothing medium.The young guys working tonight seem to be busy with a lot of chatting and unnecessary behavior. I really don't care to hear how much their tip was from a certain table or how a customer behaved at their table. I certainly don't want to see them goofing around and acting the way they did.If it wasn't for the kindness of the waitress, I would have given this place one star. Her name is Trinity. If you ever do decide to come here, please ask for her. She's the only thing that made the meal worth dining.I don't know how this place does so well. I will not be coming back.

A Kansas City staple. I often go for their lunch special a salad two pieces of pizza and a drink for nine dollars. The pizza is always very good. I do enjoy their salads. I have been several times in the services always been great at several different locations. The vibe is always awesome and it's always busy.

LOVE Minsky's Pizza! Great quality - the one in Lawrence KS has gotten a lot better over the past couple of years. My favorite!

We went here for supper. I had the Chicken Thai mini-pizza and it was very tasty. My wife had a gluten free pizza which she enjoyed. Unfortunately they only do the gluten free pizza in the small size rather than the mini. The place was very busy, so service was just OK.

Great choice for our family gathering! The gigantor was a hit! Vegan options were the reason we chose Minskys. Love that beyond meat and daiya cheese are offered!!!

Love Minsky's, had to go to another location. Horrible management at this particular site. Might be a staffing issue??? Manager seemed irritated that we were there .
