I LOVE THIS PLACE! I bring my friends and family here whenever I can because my experience here is always so good! The staff is super friendly and welcoming. As a college student I feel that the prices are unbelievable because the value of the food is so good and price is so affordable. I've never had anything here I haven't liked. The vibe is welcoming and clean.

Great food and service in a neat old building. Classic breakfast menu with lots of options; serves lunch, too.

Went here for a late lunch with a couple friends not too long ago. We went at noon because they close at one, so there was only a couple other customers. I ordered the veggie grill sandwich and added grilled chicken. I also had a side of chips. The sandwich was really flavorful and was very full of veggies, pesto, and chicken! Kettle chips were average so I'm not sure if they were made in-house. Restaurant didn't have a ton of seating, but was cute. Looked like there was a decent sized patio for nicer days. The prices were overall very affordable. The breakfast menu was quite larger than the lunch so, I'm looking forward to coming back in the morning sometime.

Wanted to enjoy the Lawrence Restaurant Scene this Sunday Morning. (Keep Reading)Once again trying to support Black Owned Establishments. This establishment is a joke and would recommend stepping foot into this Place. Reasons LISTED BELOW! 1.) Walked into the establishment with my party of 6.2.) Hostess was about to assist with cleaning an open table3.) While we waiting another party entered and we're seated immediately.4.) The owner seated the party of three and disregarded our party of six.5.) Motivational DAISY Tee Thompson Amber Dudley saw the disrespect that the Owner displayed.6.) We proceeded to leave the discriminatory establishment7.) SPENT MONEY AT Merchants Pub & Plate

We had brunch on the patio today. My chorizo burrito was quite tasty. My daughters both enjoyed the French toast platter; however, my wife wasn't impressed with hers. Not sure why. Perhaps it was the poached eggs and tofu she substituted to add on to her platter. Yikes. :) Coffee was hot and tasty, and service was quick and consistent. We could've done without all the flies outside, but that wasn't their fault.

The food was decent. However, the service was horrible. They sat us with a reservation and then the manager got upset with us because the host sat us without our whole party being there. Not to mention the manager kept hovering over our table when they saw we had the check, but did we still had plates and were still eating. I understand being busy, but the reactions made the entire experience unwelcoming.

Food was great! The food by itself is worth the 5 star rating. Service wasn't bad, however the owner of the restaurant made an effort to assist in serving our table and was very polite, kind and attentive.

Best breakfast in town. The restaurant moved about a block's distance not too long ago and the new digs are a lot more spacious. The bottomless coffee is probably the best in town but it's $3.95. Regardless, if you have no problem with Starbucks prices, then this shouldn't bother you. Also, you have to serve yourself coffee from the coffee bar.The servers range from cheerful and smiley to benign aloofness. Expect to wait for a table during peak hours Sunday morning (tennish).I don't like the fact that I have to pour my own coffee (especially when i always leave at least a 25% tip). And i am not pleased when the ocassional server wears a perpetual frown. However I continue to frequent Miltons because of the great food, ambiance, and downtown location. I also like the owner--a very pleasant African American named David, who has owned and operated this great Cafe for over 25 years.

Seated very quickly. Parking out front and around downtown requires an app. Food was good, and service was nice.

Stopped into Lawrence on a road trip from San Diego to have breakfast with a buddy from the military. I am a disabled vet and have a very well trained service animal GSD accompanying me on my travels, and even with having documentation, they wanted her to sit outside of the gate of the patio. The host even bent her service card in front of me like she was checking a fake ID at the door of a nightclub. We've stopped in 3 states prior with no issues and have never had an issue in the 4 years of having a service animal ever. Go to the Roost. 10/10 experience there with no issues.
