The food here was amazing and full of history! Mike and Loretta Lee the owner's were so welcoming and full of love to their patrons and their food! Nicky our server was so friendly and attentive. The restaurant has a welcoming ambiance with historical pictures on the wall! We had steak, ham and cheese sandwich, and the best cheesecake we have ever had! Definitely a must go if you are in Paola, Kansas. Pronounced Pay-Ole-La. Thank you to everyone at Milo's! Hopefully we get to come back one day.

A nice beer bar in historic building on the Square in Paola. Hamburgers are well executed juicy and first rate. They are also famous for large pork tenderloins. Nice service with attentive staff. A fair selection of domestic beer served in a cold frosty mug. Sad they didn't have mixed drink cocktails, or wine, but we got over it fairly fast. We had an appetizer of fried pickles and there's ketchup mustard salt and pepper on the table. It was easy to ask for other condiments. A good selection of side dishes mostly fried potatoes.

Milo's has been a "go to" place in Paola for awhile, but tonight might have become the deal breaker. A friend and I frequent Milo's quite often, but lately have been less enthused due to 1) a hike in prices and, 2) less than normal quality of the dishes.Tonight we decided to have a go again, and we're once again greatly disappointed. My friend ordered their patty melt and fries, and me, the steak tips and a baked potato. First of all both the steak tips and the patty melt came with camelized onions. However, the onion used was a red onion and everyone who has ever cooked knows, you can't caramelize a red onion because it turns to mush -- there's too much sugar in it. The onions were void of taste, except for the grease. In addition, my friend's hamburger was burnt to a charcoal crust on one side. To their credit, Milo's didn't charge her for the meal, but they also didn't offer to re-cook her anything and she basically had no dinner.I ate my baked potato which was good, but I couldn't eat but maybe 1/4 of the steak tips. They were swimming in grease! I don't understand why their burgers, steaks, and now even their steak tips are so laden with a thick oil that it's unappetizing and very, very unhealthy. Not only that, but many of the pieces contained fat, gristle, or both -- as if the steak tips were the discarded trimmings of their sirloin. Believe me, for $19, it shouldn't be swimming in grease, and it shouldn't be subordinate quality either. So, we probably won't go back to Milo's for quite a while, if ever. With prices as they are, I expect better quality, not less. Sorry Milo's.

Service was good but food was not. Met friends there for lunch. I had salmon, very fishy. Tasted old. My friends had shrimp which was mushy. Tasted like it'd been frozen too long and thawed in microwave.

Prime rib is the best I've ever had. The waitresses are nice but the female owner isn't friendly. It's located on the square so it's a great space.

First time at this place and it was a very nice and clean place. Ordered the 14oz ribeye (medium) with cottage cheese and steamed broccoli. Steak had a great flavor, but was a thin steak. Because of this my medium was a well done, but didn't hurt the steaks tenderness. Cottage cheese was cottage cheese.Steamed Broccoli wasn't steam just warmed up. Waitress was great. Friendly and on her game.I would give the steak a 6.8 and over all would give this place an 7.8. Would go back again and try other foods.

Great service. We got the Ribeye and the steak tips. Both were good and reasonably priced but the hit of the meal was the blue cheese dressing...sooo good!

As a proud meat eating American, I pride myself on the ability to taste the difference between a juicy steak and a flavorless slab of beef jerky. Unfortunately for Milo's, they dress up a once beautiful piece of meat into a something my grandpa would have worn as a boot. When I asked the server how the steaks were at Milo's, she snarked, "this is a steakhouse..." Well, I wouldn't advertise as such with this burnt piece of meat. The salads came first. This was red flag 3 or 4, but I felt like they went down to the local price chopper to get a few bags of premix salad. On a side note, the cherry tomatoes were delicious, but could not overcome the generic premade salad taste.A few minutes later, the steaks came. My wife ordered the sirloin and I settled on a strip steak. Our medium steaks were darker than the Aaron Rodgers darkness retreat this off season. It's like they went to sear the steak left for a smoke break and forgot to come back. Not only did our hockey pucks last as long as a rawhide in a small dogs mouth, they lacked any seasoning. I rarely use sauce on my steak but even a bath of Heinz 57 couldn't save this meal.My wife and I paid our bill and went to Applebees.

Was very disappointed, my baked potato tasted like it was made yesterday. And they wouldn't grill my prime rib, we will never eat there again.

I had to return a grilled cheese sandwich because the cheese was not melted. It was basically 2 pieces of cheese on toasted bread. I asked if they could put it back on the grill or microwave it and it came back to me just the same. C'mon. it's a grilled cheese sandwich! Never again.
