Don't let old reviews make you skip over this small town gem. The new owners have brought a whole new fun menu out. It was tough to choose which specialty burger I wanted. When my food arrived, it was a mess... but in the best way possible. I mean I did order a burger with Mac n cheese on it. I couldn't figure out how to tackle it, so dove right in. Just having the burger near my nose gave an aroma of a good burger. And the taste didn't let me down. Next time I'll try a regular burger because I don't think it needs all that extra to stand on its own. Also, the chicken bites to start were incredible. Grilled chicken bites with a touch of crunch to the outer part. Incredible taste all around. Would have posted a pic of the food but was too busy enjoying it.

Wish they had Caesar salads or at least better more proportion appropriate salads. Usually they are way too big with lots of extras in it or way to small with the same problem.

This place is overall mediocre. It's in small town Fayette which is also a college town. It's a great place for college kids to get a job and make some money.

Miknan's is a quaint small American cuisine restaurant situated in the heart of Fayette. The restaurant is home of the $1 water. They have a sign explaining the notion behind this but if you order an adult beverage the water is free. When we went there were kids bringing menus to the tables and taking orders. The atmosphere of the restaurant was light and quiet. They have a New York strip steak special for $9.95 on Friday and Saturday. The steak was cooked to my desire however the quality of meat was lacking. The baked potato was on the small side and the toppings were oddly served in some interesting "spoons". The salad and baked potato were probably the best part of the meal which was disheartening. All in all, for a $9.95 price in today's market this is not a bad place to get some grub. I would give this place a try again but would try something else on the menu.

My friends and I were touring central Missouri and stopped in Fayette for lunch. We parked at the town square, and decided to eat at Miknan's. It was a wise choice! It was a good lunch; I had onion straws and an "everything" salad with grilled chicken, which was very tasty. The ambience is casual and welcoming; it's in an old building with 12-foot ceilings, and the front is entirely windows, so it's light and airy. The owner is often the chef, and the day we visited he was also our waiter! He's friendly and helpful, and we had excellent service. The prices are extremely reasonable, and it was a decidedly pleasant meal. Parking was easy, and the shops around the town square are worth visiting. The next time I'm in the area, I'll remember Miknan's and stop in again!

Like Ricky's review, the owner seemed annoyed to have customers enter his empty restaurant. We ordered water and looked at menus, discovered the iced TAP water cost $1 a glass. Didn't smell great inside so we put a $5 down to cover the water and left. Emmet's is 3 doors down and there are people (custmers) inside.

The place was cute, the food was just so-so. I had a patty melt and the onions were so stringy I almost choked. The waiter, who was the owner seemed impatient and like he was annoyed to have customers. I may possibly try it again to see if I have a better experience, but the attitude of the owner gave me bad vibes about this place and there are other great choices around. Oh, one final note, they charged us a dollar a piece for 2 ice waters with our meal!

We had the jalapeño poppers...not sure but I think they are homemade, regardless they are delicious. The hamburger was one of the best burgers I have had, reminded me of the good ole days...when they made the patties by hand. My daughter had the pizza, she said it was very tasty. The owner's husband was super nice, and very helpful. We will be back in a few weeks for hunting season and plan on becoming regulars here!

Great food! Very family friendly, they have kids activities, which are very helpful with young children. The new owners are very friendly and great people. They are very strong community supporters. We recently enlisted the owner's help when hosting a benefit for some local residents and he was very generous in his assistance. Their cheeseburgers are my favorite! Check them out next time you are in the area!
