Mike's Wine and Spirits

Checked them out the other day after my appointment at KU Med. They had Molson Canadian, which I hadn't seen in ages! I bought all three 6-packs! Nice selection and a VERY nice building. Thanks!!!

Today, despite it being Thanksgiving, Devin took the time to help a stranger figure out the best mezcal to buy. He made an impromptu tasting and allowed me to purchase a mezcal that is top of the line. This place has an amazing mezcal selection and Devin was even humble enough to say the most knowledgeable guy was someone else named Andy. Great place to make informed liquor decisions!

There's a reason people in KC often cite Mike's as one of the best liquor stores. It's an unassuming looking building, not huge, but the selection is incredible!!! I have yet to ever ask for something they didn't have. Plus their prices are often lower than other places. Friendly staff, good vibes. Can't go wrong.

Pretty exceptional liquor store. Everything you could probably ever need and then some, and convenient location. Personally I found the staff pretty abrupt, but I wasn't looking to make friends just buy booze. I did hear a lady asking for help and (IMO) not really getting it. But the selection is great. Probably a little bigger than Plaza Liquor, so if selection is more important to you than nice helpful staff this is your spot!

Horrable experance. So. I didnt bring my id- so i appoligose. But & i dont normaly need it here. But i probly should have brought it. I was just trying not to have a bunch of crap to carry around as we rand down here to grab a 12 pack in the rain. I called first to see if they had curb side available after all it is a pandemic they didnt. So we went down. I foloed the line and waited for one of the guys to be ready. They have this plexy glass and a note that says to ahow them the bat code so i did that and inserted my card. Then dude asked for my id. And i said. "I dont have it on me im sorry would you like me to go get it? Of course hes going to say yes. I know leagly if you ask for an id they " have to" show it to you or you cant sell to them. So i left. And my my male room mate went back Its a golbal pandemic. And people have been asked to wear masks. The staff oviously dosnt want to come in contact with us. Forcing us to flip the box up so they can scan it.  Behind plexy glass. And avoiding us in aisles (thats great social distainceing is importaint) When he went back and said - hi. I guess my roommate didnt her her id on her so i was just gonna buy that 12 pack she left"  the dude (adoohan according to the tape regester)  was a total ass hole to him. And was like well ya i couldn't see her face. Then made him take off his mask to get rung up. If your gonna do this then you should only do curb side. He then proceded to throw the rerecepet at him.  I really use to like this store. And was excited for it to grow. For years when i lived in brookside i went to mikes there too. And sure the staff might be on edge because of the pandemic but that's no excuse for this behavior. The throwing of the resepet is the last straw. I defanty will only be going to gomers from now on.

This used to be my go to spot but I feel like with the expansion the service has gone down hill. The guys were always friendly and now it's very non personable and cold. Get your liquor and get out vibe. The expansion and revamp is amazing though nice new additions, but in my honest opinion it was a better experience at the old store.

Double check the listed price and the price that is charged to your account. I bought a bottle of tequila for what I thought was $24, I wasn't really paying attention b/c the attendant I think was purposefully distracting me. A day later I noticed my bank account was charged $30. Of course I didn't save the receipt. And the tequila was not that great. Too bad you just lost a customer Mike's. I will not be going back- total rip off!

Great little store, open late. Four stars instead of five because it's a small store, so there's not a huge selection. But the location is awesome, and they are open late. The store is clean and new, and they had two of our favorites. They were also helpful to customers (I overheard a girl asking for recommendations and they were friendly). We will definitely go back when we are in the area.
