Midtown Kava

Wow, met Sarah right away and she's the best most welcoming human ever. This store is so cute and cozy, she has crystals and of course teas. I got a drink called Boujee something, it was sooo good, it tasted like cereal milk. You really have to come see for yourself!

Absolutely can't say enough wonderful things about Mistown Kava! Sarah, the owner, is a beautiful ball of magic -- pair that with their incredible beverages, crystals, CBD, and groovy atmosphere, and you're in for a perfect visit every time. Take your beverage Togo or chill in their incredible den that feels like a secret garden.

I love this shop so much. It's everything you never knew you needed. Winter blues gotcha feeling low? Life kicking your ace? Coming here you'll get happy faces and healthy remedies. If Mary Poppins bag was a tea shop this would be it right down to the spoon full of sugar. Aaannd Mary had dreds, and a fish tank with cool snails and a cup of happy chill. You just need to see it for yourself. Plants are everywhere, color explosion, something new to see everywhere. Normally that kind of space would over stimulate but this was just....nice. I think the soft lighting and the set up just lends to a thoughtful, comfortable and unique experience. If I lived in the neighborhood I'd be there often but she does make up batches of kava that are easily prepped at home. Let's be honest kava taste like dirt, but that's not why it's gaining notice. For many it's game changer but here they offer some pretty tasty ways to have it.Parking can be rough but not impossible. With a little patient searching a spot can be found. A weekend visit had us about a block walk away, not bad. I suspect day time hours might even have a street spot or two open in front. The 39th street community is a pretty sweet one with so much to offer. Worth the visit for sure.

I have a dog that has seizures and wanted to do what I can to help minimize them. In comes CBD. Having a local place that makes CBD oil is great, and having a local place that sells this is even better. I've called on a few other places that were closer but all were closed. That's fine because the owner and the other workers here are so nice and authentic people. Not like most other places you go to where the workers don't talk, don't even interact with you in a genuine manner.I HIGHLY recommend coming here for your needs and feel free to ask questions. They know it all! This is my ONLY place to go to for my needs for years to come!

For the win! The whole CBD world can be overwhelming to really know much about, so an in-store visit is always a good idea for newbies. Additionally, quality CBD products are not cheap, so why not get a sample to find out if it actually does anything for you? They offer those here. This location is on the always busy, vibrant 39th Street West and isn't too far from where I live. When I popped in, the owner was really friendly as I picked up some sparkling teas and water soluble CBD. If you are wondering where to start with CBD, I vote the Natural flavored, water-soluble CBD for $60. It comes with a small dropper that allows you to control how much you want to add to any drink (I just do water), and it has a slightly elevating, yet subtle mellowing effect. Perfect for stressful days, the holidays, or general days of dread (looking at you, 2020). I have bought other reputable brands that are just oil and not water soluble. For me, I had to take WAY more mg of oil to notice what I would from a tiny amount of American Shaman's water soluble. It took forever to kick in as well. I think CBD is pretty great, and people who have never tried it are probably leary of it and associate it with pot, but it's so far from that. It's not intoxicating at all, and keeps your mind sharp on top of feeling more zen. Sometimes I think our country needs the water supply spiked with it for a day or two just to mellow everyone out.

I visited Midtown Kava for the first time last week, to purchase some special items for an epic birthday massage! Not only did Sarah help me find the perfect purchase, I left with a greater understanding for the potential use of CBD! Excellent customer service!! I intend on going back and trying their tea they make in house!!

This shop is incredible. The Kava is strong and wonderful. The owner is good company and has a fantastic shop. Well worth going out of your way for.

This place is really special... Sara, the proprietor is truly a sweetheart and is the kind of person that makes Kansas City my favorite city. Thank you so much for your hospitality! I can't wait to come see you again next time we visit KC!!

Just happened to enter on a whim and was blown away by the whimsical and surreal environment. Sarah was so knowledgeable and an engaging conversationalist. Taking a genuine interest in her customers. So many goodies in the shop from fresh kombucha, CBD goods, and handmade local artisanal wares. If you want to support local, this is a good place to start. And I can't even begin to describe the charm of her tea room... you just have to see it in person.

We're from out of town and wanted a place to relax because our flight got delayed due to stormy weather. This was an incredible spot with beautiful decor and a relaxing ambiance. The owner was also extremely thoughtful and kind. I rarely write reviews, but this place was so exceptional that we wanted to leave some love. Cheers from New York.
