This is a quaint winery in a 100yr old grocery store that's been converted. The true charm of this place is in the proprietors. The main guy is a Grateful Dead fan and will play some wonderful tunes upon request. Spend some time to get to know him. He has a very rich history to tell. While you're there, try the wine slushies. I've purchased several of the mixes over the years to make at home. When I do the wine tours I make sure this is my last stop because I have the most fun here and I don't want to miss a moment.

Went here on the Trolley tour with a big group. Cool general store with lots of interesting steins. The wine was meh and we had to pay an extra $1 for the tasting glass. The wine slushies were totally crushable. Best part was definitely Mila, the shop dog.

Sweet people and they've done an awesome job with the general store but their wine was very bad. If you're looking to check out a cool old general store you're in for a treat but don't come in expecting great wine.

This weekend we took the Miami County Wine tour and this was our 2nd stop, the General Store to taste Middle Creek Wine. The place was really cute and the people so sweet but the wine, horrible! It smelled of acetone and tasted worse! Tried to shoot it down holding my breath but couldn't do it for long. Us And the couple next to us had to keep dumping it!! Didn't know till later that an acetone smell means there is a bacteria in the wine and it has gone bad! I hope this is a one time thing because the place was so cute but we definitely won't be going back!!!!

When I took the Miami County trolley, this was a stop we made. This is a pretty small place and there aren't many seats. Out of all the wineries we stopped, this was my least favorite. I know I tried their Honey Red, which is really unique and delicious even if you don't drink reds (me). I don't really have a taste for any of the other wines they have there. Personally, if you were visiting other wineries, I would suggest stopping by, but I wouldn't make a special trip just to visit this winery.

We took the afternoon to do a winery tour in the area. We visited four, and this one is the bottom of our list. The general store is very cute and quaint and all of its staff extremely friendly. However if you're interested in the taste of wines, do not bother. A couple of the wines we tasted had already "turned," and the staff seem to know that, but they gave them to us anyway. They do provide both a sangria slushy and a peach slushy, and if you are looking for an ice cold slushy on a hot summer day, this probably would be the place to go.The general store has many cute knickknacks, and locally made jewelry, etc. It is a nice place a visit, however if you are limited on time and are interested in wine, you might want to skip this one.

I'm honestly very disappointed in the other reviews. This is a place I have visited several times and have never been disappointed. For one thing, I have never been charged extra for the wine glass. Ever. It's a straight charge for the tasting, glass included. The glass is so cute, I would pay the cost of the tasting for the glass, alone. The owners of the general store are fantastic. They are so sweet and welcoming, it genuinely feels as if you are visiting family or dear friends. The odds and ends for sale are adorable and SO reasonably priced. The wines are, too. I would suggest the Cheyenne Red or Sunflower White. The slushies?! Don't even get me started... I have asked for seconds at more than one Middle Creek tasting.

In the fall of 2017 my wife and i were visiting her brother in Ottowa KS. We went on a wine trip to some of the local wineries. Middle creek was one of them and their wine is really good. Last week I saw a mess by my wine racks and it turned out that the Peach wine that we purchase at middle creek had pooped it cork on it's own. That pretty blue wine bottle was empty. I do not know if anyone ealse has had this problem but you need to know. William from Minnesota
