Messenger Coffee

I love messenger coffee so much. Definitely the best coffee and espresso in Kansas City. This spot is a great little spot for a coffee to go before you go shopping on the plaza.

When I come to KC for workI always make sure to see this spot. The food is great and the coffee is better. Each space is perfectly designed and welcoming.

This is one of my go-to coffee spots on the Country Club Plaza. This is the location right around the corner from Anthropologie. Street parking is tough to find, but if you get lucky the 15-min parking spots right outside may be available. I've always received friendly and quick service here. Inside typically has calm vibes. There's ample outdoor seating, but minimal indoor seating. Just keep that in mind if you're thinking about working remote here or meeting with friends. I usually end up taking my order to-go. I highly recommend ordering a baked good to go with your drink of choice (mine is always an iced vanilla latte).

This location has always been a good one, and it's always nice to have something -- anything! -- local on the Country Club Plaza. I was on a winter break and wanting to branch out, so I made my way down here to pick up some sort of fun, wintery latte for my wife and a black coffee. The KC coffee scene has gotten so strong, and I know Messenger is always a contender, so I was excited to see what's new down here what kind of fun, seasonal creations they had. To my surprise, they didn't have any holiday or winter drinks, just the airport-coffee shop basics like vanilla, lavender, etc.I realize this might seem a bit overly particular, but to me, having some unique drink options provides a chance for the coffee shops to differentiate themselves and show off their creativity. If there's nothing standing out in that regard, it makes it hard for me to remember to go back in a crowded field of great local coffee. Ultimately, I ordered a lavender latte for my wife which was fine, and I got a black coffee that was good -- although priced around $5 for drip coffee has me thinking I'll keep just brewing at home 90% of the time. TL;DR; To me this was cafe has become on par with a fancy version of grabbing coffee at the airport. Somewhat convenient, somewhat pricey, and somewhat forgettable.

I'm so proud to have a place like Messenger Coffee in KC. Messenger has become quite the staple in this city and the growth i've seen it have since it's inception has been incredible. Specifically, their downtown location is one of a kind. With almost four different levels for seating, mingling, studying, and enjoying, it's a beautiful space that does KC and our architecture proud.Their baked goods are fresh made and delicious. My personal favorite drink order is a hot tea. You get the whole pot steeped and not only is it adorable, but it's delicious! I highly recommend you pay a visit to Messenger and spend some time enjoying the space. It's a great place to center yourself on a Sunday morning!

Walked in during posted business hours and was told "sorry we're closed." Might want to have staff not turn people away if the business is still open just cuz you know, they don't want to work.

If you're a KC local, you've likely heard of Messenger coffee...but most aren't familiar with the quaint location found on the Main Street of the Country Club Plaza. A perfect grab and go location for your mornings on the run when you need your caffeine fix, but quickly. There is minimal seating inside, but if you'd like to enjoy the morning sunshine with a friend, there is outdoor seating as well. The service at this location is my favorite as I've come to know the face of each barista and love catching up when I stop in. I have yet to try their seasonal options but love the creativity in offerings such as "orange creme cold foam" and "lavender honey" selections.

I came here for the grand opening and they did a great job. I used to come here when it was the other coffee shop and I love its location. The staff is super friendly and there's a nice assortment of pastries to choose from. I think my favorite part is that on a nice day if you eat outside the little English sparrow's will come and visit with you but you have to feed them a little bit in order to win their respect.

Ive always really like messenger coffee however after being bought by another company and opening smaller scale messenger stores I think the quality has be affected. Both times Ive come the espresso hadn't been dialed in properly and in result my drinks were not up to pare as what I would expect from a speciality coffee establishment. The staff on both my visits were also not very hospitable and were more focused on their conversations with each other. It's definitely a beautiful space and has a incredible patio however with the approaching cold weather there will not be very much space to sit and will be more of a grab and go styled shop.

Decent coffee, well priced, and extremely friendly staff! Popped in while in a hurry and they were able get my order taken care of quickly which was much appreciated!
