MeMa's Old Fashioned Bakery

Sweet little quaint bakery off Leavenworth Road. Picked up a loaf of sourdough, which was delicious for grilled cheese! Also grabbed a sausage breakfast burrito that was big enough to share with my husband and for "breakfast dessert" we had apple cider donuts. I grabbed 6 freshly baked donuts for only $3! They were absolutely divine! Service was quick and made order! Definitely going back to try other things

Got the Apple Strudel and it was GREAT! Not overly sweet, just like I like it. Slightly warmed it in the oven and was devoured by all

They actually make povitica with an old world grandma's recipe. It so much better than the commercially produced from strawberry hill.

Having grown up with Povitica and German Strudels, I was looking forward to experiencing Mimas. The Strudels were so saturated with cinnamon and sugar you couldn't tell what the flavor was supposed to be. I served a piece of Strudel to my mother-in-law and she received a full teaspoon of sugar. The Povitica was so loaded down with cinnamon it can't be called Povitica, it was more like a cinnamon roll in another form. Never again.

This place is adorable! Sweet employees, cinnamon rolls and Povitica to die for. It's so nice having a local bakery near by! Great place to stop and get some treats on the way to Wyandotte County Lake. It's definitely a hidden gem on Leavenworth Rd.

It's hard to write this review because I think I would have had a better experience if they had the item they are known for and what I came for. I drove out of my way to drive the Povetica but when I got there, they told me that they were barely baking them and they wouldn't be ready until later in the day. I ended up not getting anything but my wife got a cinnamon roll which was "meh." I am not mad, just disappointed.
