Melt Box Ice Cream

What a treat to get ice cream from the mobile food truck. So many great flavor combinations, it can be quite hard to narrow down a choice. Guys were helpful in making sauce and topping suggestions and got my order out quickly. Can't wait to get ice cream here again and would definitely hit this one up anywhere. Planning on taking friends when next in the iron district.

First time trying out this truck and I got the Italian Ice: Carrot Mango. So intriguing yet so delicious . They have so many flavors and it was hard to choose which flavors to try. I decided to pick the one that is light and easy on my stomach. I'm glad I went with my choice. I never thought carrot as ice cream and I was blown away. Staff was nice and let us try some samples before we settle with our choices. I would love to try their other flavors now.

Finally tried Melt Box today and I'm so glad I did. The Melt Monster has been on my radar for a while and it lived up to the hype. If you don't know, it's a sweet bun with your choice of ice cream pressed and sealed inside. Same method as a brioche ice cream sandwich, if you've ever had one at EPCOT or High Hopes here in KC. And just as delicious. The aroma of the bun alone was heavenly but paired with creamy and flavorful peanut butter cookie dough ice cream, it was the perfect sweet treat. Choosing an ice cream flavor was not easy. They had a few that were tempting, like espresso, or salted caramel, but I went with something I wouldn't normally choose and I have no regrets. The guy at the window was super nice and patient with us as we wrestled with the options. I'm pretty sure he also prepped our order and everything was perfect.Melt Box has space in the Iron District in NKC. This was my first time visiting and I can't wait to go back and try some of the other vendors. It would be really fun to do a crawl, try something from each place, and then cap the eclectic meal with a Melt Box delight. How lucky are we to have such a long list of truly great ice cream shops in Kansas City? Melt Box is a worthy inclusion that deserves repeat visits.

I hired Meltbox for an event for my church for a concert in a park. They responded quickly when I contacted them and were very easy to work with.Everyone loved the flavors provided- from traditional vanilla with sprinkles to "exhausted parent" a bourbon flavored ice cream with chocolate. They were generous portions for the price. The truck is cute and a perfect addition to our event.

This ice cream hits the spot on warm days. They have generous servings and even better two toppings and syrups are included in the price. I went for full on sugar rush with vanilla topped with kit kat pieces, m&ms and chocolate syrup. I was not disappointed. Flavors change often and are homemade. Put this on your list to try and enjoy chatting with the staff while you wait.

I'm so glad that there's an ice cream place at Iron District now!! It's the perfect way to end a summer night hanging out outdoors. There's no point in going if you don't try a signature melt monster, which is a donut filled with ice cream with your choice of topping and sauce! It melts fast since the donut is warm but you'll gobble it up fast enough I'm sure. Prepare to get super messy. They have fun toppings and fun ice cream flavors that rotate so it's always a blast to decide on my new flavor creation. When my sister visits KC this is one of the places she requests to visit every time now! Parking at Iron District can be a bit of a struggle at peak times, but it's worth it if you have to walk from street parking.

It's ice cream. It's edible. That's about all I can say. Even the vanilla was lacking "vanilla" flavor. Subpar.

Had a really great experience with the melt box truck today between the service and the options. There are a few of your usual options to choose from as well as some more enticing varieties. (ROKC Gym Event) While considering some options the employees were having a conversation about choices as well and accidentally rushed me from afar not knowing I could hear their convo. The voice in my head (Isaac's [i think that is his name] "just choose something") was correct, as I chose the strawberry Italian ice and passion fruit Italian ice and both flavors were awesome, being a little fruity tart and not super sweet. Great experience, great atmosphere, and great flavor options.
