McCormick & Schmick's Seafood & Steaks

Went with my mother in law for KC restaurant week 2025 and we had a great time. Our server was amazing, the atmosphere was great, very comfortable seats and quick service. We loved all of our food and the desserts were incredible. I was stuffed!! #kcrw25

Pleasantly surprised! Went here for a late and light dinner. Our waitress Anne was a gem. She was on point but not too, "in your face". Always near when we needed something, great demeanor, and had some awesome suggestions when we asked about the menu. Had the best crab cake I have ever had outside of Maryland! It was not breaded, more like a crab salad that had been lightly fried. The reduction with it was perfect. My lobster bisque was smoky with lots of lobster meat. The upside down apple pie with cinnamon ice cream was the big treat of the night. Warm and very tasty! Perfect end of meal.

We stopped by this location on the Plaza because I had some Landry rewards points I needed to use before I lost them. Oh boy! We were in for a treat! Arianna was our delightful server and she was so kind and helpful! The restaurant is gorgeous and well appointed. They have a wonderful way about them here. Arianna knew her way around the wine list. We started with the suggested pour which was a delightful Sav Blanc from Justin on the Central Coast (NV). It was glorious!! I can see why they are highlighting it. I'll be buying a case. I had some lovely oysters and the shrimp cocktail to start. My wife had the clam chowder which is her favorite on Earth and I also love. The complimentary sourdough bread was amazingly delicious!For mains I had the sirloin, which was better than the Golden Ox version I had a few nights ago. By far. My wife had pan seared sea scallops with sherry cream sauce and risotto with peas and micro greens. It was all outstanding. We moved to the area from Vegas 15 months ago and both agreed this is the best meal out we've had so far in KC. Delicious!! McCormick & Schmick's and the vivacious Arianna delivered!

Came here for happy hour. The food selection was good and a great drink menu. I love the patio and ambiance. The staff was very friendly.

Stopped by for happy hour before going to an event on the plaza. Love the location and decor. We got in right away, around 4:30 on a Thursday. We sat in the bar. They have a LARGE happy hour menu. I got a lemon drop martini and my husband got an old fashioned. We both agreed they were too sweet for our palates. My husband and I shared the fries, fish tacos, and the baked feta. Fries were good, I wish the tacos would have had more sauce on them, but the fish was crispy and delicious. The baked feta was my favorite, but I wish we had had some more bread. Service was great. I'd stop back in for happy hour if in the area, but would stick to wine to drink.

Christmas Eve dinner was very good. Shrimp and scallop Rockefeller app was amazing but didn't come out until right before entrees. Manager came out and apologized for the delay and comp'd the app. Service was good. Filet mignon was fantastic and so were the mashed potatoes. Great meal, great experience.

Look, I don't know how other visits would have gone for M&S to get a three-star average, but our experience bordered on pretty darn great. Yep, it's pricey and yes, it can be a little hectic, but from seated to checkout, M&S really deserves the stars.We reserved ahead (absolutely recommend) and were seated right away. I love me a good solid drinky drink, so my choice of the #M&S was spot on: bourbon, orange liqueur, & citrus syrups crowned with a foam and emblem made for a stellar start. If you are new to the higher-end 'steak joint', then just know that a'la carte is how it gets done. The salads are simply ginormous, so my lovely wife & I split an iceberg wedge that was sawed off of a head of iceberg that likely had its own gravitational pull. Loaded with bleu cheese crumbles, diced tomatoes, & crispy bacon, somewhat drenched in a bleu cheese dressing and served in chilled bowls, this was a complete winner. We almost never do iceberg lettuce, but in the spirit of the moment, we graded this as the perfect start.Our server, Kylie, really knew the menu and suggested the chef's choice items. I went for one, a salmon filet stuffed with crab, shrimp, Brie, & sun-dried tomatoes with a Boursin mashed potato side and broccolini while my wife had the seared ahi tuna with the sticky rice. Holy cow, what a pair a sensational dinners! Maybe my sides weren't *quite* plate-hot, but the flavors on the stuffed salmon were busy and blended perfectly. The ahi was absolutely sublime, an herbed/spiced crust around a rare filet, done to perfection and coupled with that pineapple rice. Simply spectacular! Service was equal to the food delivery. It's a bustling dining room, but the staff seems focused and definitely had this Saturday night totally under control. We were never waiting for anything, Kylie was so on top of everything, even suffering through my 'The Bear' references but giving us a topshelf experience. Sure, pricing is upscale, but you knew that, and whether you're in for surf or for turf, you are going to have a wonderful meal and equally wonderful time.

If you gave this place less than 4 stars you can kick rocks. Took my girlfriend for an anniversary, we had a great time. The bread for a starter was so warm and comforting, maybe we were starving maybe it was the bread. Regardless it was great. Our drinks were perfectly crafted. The only reason my stomach hurt after was because my girlfriend out ordered me and I had to eat half of her plate as well. I don't waste food.My meal was great too but hers was better it was chicken and gnocchi pesto something. I'm lactose intolerant but I knowingly ate the dessert as well. And I would do it all again tomorrow, no regrets. 5 stars across the board, y'all out your mind giving 2 stars.

Met a client for Lunch and the food was excellent. Our server was also very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and helped us make our final decisions. It wasn't busy but we still had to wait 10 mins to get a table at 1230, then the hostess goes to seat the two of us at a 6 top in the mix of other large parties which would have made it hard to talk business so we asked to move. She accommodated but said she does that bc it makes it easier for the sever? We prob passed 10 open smaller tables so they could sit everyone all together? This makes no sense. Once we got passed that it was great experience.
