This is one of the nicer markets that the husband and I have been to when traveling. It was a rather peaceful visit after Thanksgiving when we had to go in to pick up some necessities for our weekend. The prices were very affordable and the aisles were very easy to get down. They had quite the selection available. The staff was very nice at checkout. I also got to explore the app as well to see what the weekly offerings before we arrived, which gave us a heads up for our shopping.

We just moved to the Westport/North Plaza area and this is now our closest grocery store. We were happy to find one within walking distance and thought it has a nice selection of produce and dairy-free (vegan) items. The cashier who rang up our groceries was very nice as was the customer service person who signed us up for their reward card.

I hear a lot of hate for Sun Fresh, but I love this grocery store. The Sun Fresh always come through for me. I walk here every week to do my grocery shopping, and I've never had a bad experience. For being a medium sized grocery store, they have tons of variety. There have only been a handful of things that I haven't been able to find here. The Sun Fresh really comes through!! I drove all over the place looking for wonton wrappers, and the Sun Fresh had tons all along. With inflation, I don't think it's that much more overpriced than any other grocery store. The generic brands are super affordable. They have a pretty good bakery section, and lots of good produce options. Sometimes produce is randomly huge (like football sized sweet potatoes)-- my roommate and I like to play a game to figure out which produce is the most unusually large every week. The service can be a little eh, but everyone is super burnt out these days anyway, and I've never had anyone be outright rude. The cashiers are efficient and resolve issues quickly. I love that it's open 24/7. I've only been here a handful of times in the middle of the night, but it's so convenient to be able to go whenever. I have never felt unsafe at nighttime. Security is helpful and attentive inside. You will see people from all walks of life at all hours of the day, and generally everyone just goes about their business. The parking lot is well-lit and large. I love having this grocery store in Westport. I love being able to walk here and get everything I need in one place. I'm a Sun Fresh fan.

This Sun Fresh was a godsend when everything started shutting down when COVID first struck. I'd shopped there for years as a night shift worker and Sun Fresh was the only store that stayed open 24 hours. Price Chopper, then HyVee stopped their 24 hours. Thank you, Sun Fresh. If the parking lot looks sketchy late at night, ask the security guard to shine a light.

Horrible customer service. I was not given a receipt and ended up the fresh pineapple was expired. They refused to provide a refund. Absolutely terrible waste of money.

They are to dang high in prices and the deli should not make you run to the bathroom the next day after you eat from the deli

This Sun Fresh and Costco appear to be the defacto large-scale grocery stores in midtown (not counting the lovely, small Nature's Own in Westport), and if I had to choose, I'd choose Costco all day. This Sun Fresh gets a bad wrap, but it's not all bad. It's not all great, either. It just kind of is. I've always felt like the lighting is weird in here, the produce isn't quite as good as what I hope for, and overall it's just a place you go to get in and get out. I know, I know, it's unfair to expect an "experience" from a grocery store, but I find that typically Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and other well-branded stores tend to provide a better overall experience. Some pro's are:-Location-Tons of parking-Lots of options to choose from-Liquor and beer optionsCon's are:-Weird vibe-Not always the friendliest place-Generic-BusyIn a driving city like KC, I'll just hop in the car and go a few miles out of the way to go to some other spots.

I've been there once and bought a few items. Now that I moved next door my foot will not set in this establishment. I have now wasted half an hour to find the variety and cost of butter. Their website is useless. I will not drive in this heat even the few feet to find out. I will just shop in another supermarkt.

As I first entered there were men (delivery drivers) arguing in the dark entrance. Selection was fine but prices were high...particularly for the smoothie that was two months past the best-buy date. Cashier held onto receipt until I smiled at him. Dark parking lot made me not feel safe shopping there at night.
