Two years ago, our kids found a great school home at Maranatha, and we found a terrific group of parents and a community we love to be a part of. The school has a rare spirit about, it is welcoming and inclusive. The education standards are very high, and students at Maranatha consistently rank higher than at the best alternatives in our area. This school may be the most affordable and the most diverse private school in the metro area, both a huge plus! We haven't seen bullying, exclusivity, or putting up with problem people like you see in other schools. Our kids came from a public school and fit in with ease. Terrific staff and state-of-the-art facilities are an added bonus. It's easy to see why Maranatha has so many potential students shadowing and so many new enrollments!

If you are looking for a good college prep school then this is a great place to send your children as far as the education goes. I really did feel like I got a great education going here that prepared me immensely for college. HOWEVER i have a lot of negative things to say outside of that.If your parents are doctors or lawyers that make the upper end of 6 figures you are going to be in great shape at this school. As it seems that the amount of money your parents are willing to donate to the school directly affects the experience you have there. You will get special treatment and can pretty much do whatever you want and get away with it.When I went there the kids whose parents made large contributions to the school could be the biggest bullies and just the most horrible people and the school would do nothing about it because they didn't want to chance losing the monetary contribution of the parents. Not all, but most of the parents and staff associated with Maranatha Academy act like they are " Holier than thou" and pretend to be the perfect people and Christians when in reality they sin and fall short of the glory of God just like all the rest of us. There is just a LOT of hypocrisy within the school itself. The school also has a horrible bullying problem. Again this comes back to those rich kids being able to do and say anything they want. During one of my years there, I saw multiple kids get shoved into lockers (one kid was shoved so hard into a locker he got a concussion). And the teachers and staff just look the other way. The school also charges you basic tuition but will ask you repeatedly multiple times a month for hundreds of extra dollars for field trips, extracurricular programs, school lunches, class trips, donations to the school itself etc. etc. etc. I went to this school my entire life from 2nd grade until I graduated as a senior in high school and while the education was fantastic every other aspect fell short.

We have been nothing but impressed with MCA. In an ever evolving and changing world, it's harder and harder for parents to safeguard their children. Thankfully, Maranatha makes this less daunting. MCA offers a quality education, fantastic and qualified teachers, competitive sports and elective programs. After extensively searching for a quality private Christian school we landed on MCA and won't look back.

Our daughter goes her currently and we just cannot say enough good things about it. She has made relationships that we believe will be lifelong and the teachers and staff have all been so wonderful.

All schools have politics but at Maranatha it's extremely apparent where certain students and families stand. It's obvious for some families that have been there a while, or students that have parents that work for the school, are given a free pass. A get out of jail card. To name a few - double standards on dress code, tardies being overlooked, outright skipping class, making inappropriate comments both in person, online bullying - things that all schools deal with, but for the cost of a private Christian school you expect more. Any issues that are brought up are swept under the rug, to protect Maranatha's "image". Those Christian values are there to some extent, but are swept aside when not convenient. Honestly our child had more Christian support at the public school level. It's all about checking off a box.On the educational side, the highschool English and Math department are pretty amazing, but that's it. The PE class final was a test on Peanuts....yes, Charlie Brown.....you don't expect a ton from PE, but seriously. The science class had "nature" walks - the kids Instagram posts during these walks showed the lack of educational value. Spanish - 1 chapter a month....our middle school student at a different school learned more in one month than our highschool teen learned in one semester. FYI - the "pod" system for COVID quarantine is non existent. If quarantine occurs, be prepared for online learning, where teachers don't always show or grade the assignments given. All in all, for a school that prides itself on Education and Christian values, that ship has long sailed. Maranatha may have been a great school years ago, but now it's a shell of it's former self. Don't believe me? Ask former parents and teachers who have also directly worked with the school administration. Do your research before enrolling.

Maranatha Christian has been a part of our family's world for several years. I love the small classes and the biblical worldview that is presented in the curriculum. Students can earn college credit as well as participate in sports at the regional and state levels.

Maranatha Pre-School is an excellent place to build an academic foundation for young children. They learn their phonics, basic math, great social skills, character, and God's Word. The Pre-school teachers are super kind and encouraging to the young children and they make the parents feel happy about leaving their children there. Love this school!
