Mad Jack's Fresh Fish

Hands down the best fried fish in the Kansas City area. Came here to get food for dinner. I went with the dinner for two, two pounds of catfish two sides and two drinks. 10/10.

Mad Jack's is my go-to whenever I'm in town. I have family that lives in KCK, and I promise I stop here every time I'm in town.They are a small building, and they are pros of getting their to go orders out the door in a timely manner. They also have a website, so you can order your food ahead of time and not have to wait.They have a variety of fish options that you can buy raw and take home to cook yourself, or you can get it made fresh and take it home. My normal order is catfish strips, fried oysters, hush puppies, green beans, coleslaw, and potato wedges. The food is consistently good. I would recommend that if you get a large order, make sure it is correct before you drive off. We have had a couple of bumps in the past, but I appreciate that they always fix it when there is an error and don't give you a hard time. I will continue to visit when I'm in town.

Need a fish and chip. The atmosphere was busy as always and the service was efficient. The order consisted of 1/2 walleye w Mac and cheese (no flavor) good portion and 1 apple pie and 1/2 Whiting w Fries and Side of Hushpuppies with a pie. *my pie tasted like fish.. I would always go back. The total was $39.24

Love the basa fillets! Easy pick up from the restaurant and food is hot. Fries are okay, but fry on the fish is good!

I stopped by an bought about 13 pounds of raw buffalo fish and they cut it up and boxed it up on ice so I could drive it to Wichita. I then ordered fried oysters & shrimp. The service was amazing a young lady was talking as she walked by saw me at the register and stopped her conversation to see if I needed anything. That's excellence customer service. Every single person was on point. The music & friendly nature of the crew make the ambiance of this spot wonderful. Everyone should check it out!

I wanted to love it cause it came highly recommended. However sadly I just didn't love it and then I felt bad cause they wanted me to love it and I just didn't love it. I got the fish and shrimp basket and although it was hot, the fish tasted like it came straight from the river. Back home we call if swampy fish and it was just not something I could get past. The shrimp was large and cooked well, the hush puppies were hit and miss. Some were fried hard, some were under cooked in the middle, and some were decent. The fries were good, the fried oysters were okay and I was slightly disappointed in my van soda as it wasn't cold. I personally didn't go in so I don't know what the place looks like or offers however as I said, the people I was with rave about this place, they hit this place every time they come to town, just wasn't hitting for me that day.

Been going to Mad Jack's for years. It's my favorite fried fish place. The fish is super fresh, well cooked to order and super delious! Fresh fish is also available for purchase and you can watch it cleaned and fileted on the spot. The place is small, very plain and seems to have been there a very long time. It has some seating for eating in, but no waiter service and it's really a carry-out. There are a wide variety of fish available. My favorites include Ocean Perch and Catfish. If you want to try the best fried fish in Kansas City, you have to visit Mad Jack's.

Couldn't find the fish under all the batter.Not much of a meal for what we paid. Hush puppies were good.

Great frog legs and okra, no dine in but worth the trip for fried seafood, fish and frog legs

The spaghetti is horrible. I would take SpaghettiOs any day over it the fish and the chicken is soggy, but has good taste. The Buffalo sauce is horrible.
