Bleh! That's the best way to describe this place. The food was bleh! Like add some seasoningThe DJ was bleh. Like ebb and flow, man.The beer was bleh. The tapped beer was flat after they filled pitchers with super foam. Apparently they didn't tap the keg right but they didn't fix it either. And then they wanted to charge for bottled bud

3.5 This faculty is beautiful and the facilities are top. However the chairs here are horrible. Do not plan a lengthy event here or one that you cannot freely mingle. Probably time to invest in new seating. Review update. Their response was kind and detailed agreement and they had already ordered more chairs. Facility has always been top notch other than my discomfort at the previous event. Thanks you Steve.

Lawrence's go-to destination event space.Name the event, they've done it hundreds of times here: weddings, wedding rehearsals, board meetings, cabarets, fraternity/sorority events, proms, etc., etc. You don't have the kind of scheduling and traffic they're running unless you're first-rate. Don't get here real often, but dropped by late last night at a political watch party. Things are humming behind the scenes, trash is getting quietly picked up, trash containers changed out before they're overflowing, bartenders are hustling, and everything seems to click. I'm reminded how well everything operates here.Happen to know who the executive chef is and he's the real deal, lots of big experience in the city and a no b.s. kind of guy that gets the job done right. Food is flying in and out of here at a rate that exceeds many restaurants in the area.If I had an event and was looking for a space to serve those needs I'd be looking here first because the experience and expertise lies within.

My fiance and I had a really unpleasant experience with Maceli's while trying to find a place to hold our wedding. He tried reaching out to someone so that we could tour the facilities. I'm not sure if they were weirded out with a guy contacting them over a wedding, but they were difficult to pin down. We also had some troubles trying to find a time to tour-- we lived in KC at the time and they wouldn't show us the facilities after six (when I got off at 5), which is fine, but when we tried to schedule an earlier time they wouldn't confirm it.When we finally set up a time to tour, the employee we met with (Kasey?) was super un-friendly. We asked a bunch of questions that were met with a quick yes or no, without any sort of elaboration. The tour ended in some office on the second floor, where we stared at each other for ten minutes. The conversation was so awkward and I was getting so frustrated by the fact that she was not helpful at all, that I finally cut off the tour and said we had to get going to dinner. She left us to show ourselves out, which seemed a little rude but would have been fine except it's like a labyrinth to get to the office and we ended up getting turned around and lost on the way out.We eventually found a really nice place to hold our wedding, but this was a big letdown. When people recommended it to us for our rehearsal dinner we were pretty quick to toss it aside. So disappointing.

We used Maceli's for both our rehearsal dinner and our wedding. We had it catered both times to a different location, although we ate at Maceli's for one of their tastings and really loved the venue as well. We had already contracted with our venue at the time of the tasting or else we would have been very interested at having our wedding on location. The food was INCREDIBLE. Our guests wouldn't stop talking about how delicious the food was especially the beef. The staff were a dream to work with as they were very attentive, communicative, and professional. And last but definitely not least, they have SO MANY options for truly every budget. I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone better in Lawrence. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone planning a wedding.

I was able to experience Maceli's because of a wedding reception held at their banquet hall. Their facility was beautiful, well decorated, clean and the staff working the event were excellent. The food was wonderful. I had the short-ribs, potatoes and sauteed veggies. The warm apple crisp for dessert was also amazing. I found everything to be exceptional and professional. Perfectly suited for a wonderful event.

My wife and selected Maceli's for our wedding ceremony and reception. What they provide was a perfect evening. Food, bar service, ceremony, clean bathrooms, knowledgeable and kind staff... everything at Maceli's was wonderful. Steve and Lara acted with professionalism and courtesy. The venue is just modern enough with a touch of class and offers fun lighting options and a great dance floor. I can't recommend Maceli's highly enough for any special occasion.

Maceli's is amazing! We had a contract for our wedding with another catering company and they just stopped responding. Maceli's stepped in and blew us away with their menu selection and full service. We got married at The Brownstone in Topeka and the food was served warm and perfect! We had a vegan dish, a chicken dish, and a beef dish. We heard so many complements from our guests, and our videographer was so excited when they heard Maceli's was catering because they loved the food from other weddings. I worked primarily with Jesse and he was awesome. We also got our linen napkins from Maceli's.

Can't say enough about the staff and services of Maceli's. Being an out-of-town MOG, I found myself kind of shooting in the dark while trying to find a place to hold our rehearsal dinner in a city I did not know. Maceli's had the date open and there were some positive reviews on Yelp and WeddingWire, so I decided to take the plunge and hope for the best. Wow, was I glad I did! The staff was so very helpful and friendly all along the process. The smaller room at "Their Place" (the Maceli's dining room on New Hampshire) was both comfortably intimate for our group of about 45, and lovely. In fact it was so nice that I didn't even end up using all I had brought with us to decorate - just added the centerpieces to the tables and we were good to go. There was another function going on in the larger room, but they had our room well-marked and when we closed the door, we never heard a thing from the other party. We chose the Italian buffet w/ homemade lasagna for our meal, topped it off with tiramisu for dessert. All was just excellent - hot, fresh, and very tasty. I continue to receive comments about how good it was from those who were there. I think the only thing I would change if I could would be the parking situation, which was across the street. The lot was well-marked, but the "Maceli's" sign on the building, itself, was partially obscured by the trees in front, which made it a little difficult to figure out where you should be once you were parked. Definitely not a deal-breaker, though. We all figured it out, made our way in, and had a wonderful time! Thanks, again, Maceli's!
