Macarena's Mexican Food Kansas City

First, this is a delivery review, and the in-store experience could be different. I think one of the ways you can identify a good Mexican restaurant is by the quality of its guacamole. Dear Sir. What you served me was lime ice cream. It was scooped into a bowl with an ice cream scooper. it had zero texture, and the ONLY discernible flavor was lime. Not avocado, not pico, not spicy. LIME. If I wanted ice cream I would have ordered from Baskin Robins. Other food delivered included a torta with carne asada. This was OK. A little bit of stringy fat. GF ordered tacos and these seemed good. Food was on time. But gosh, guys. If you need a lesson in good guac give me a call and I'll come and show you how.

If you're looking for a pretty decent little Mexican spot this is it! A cute little spot with quick and easy Mexican dishes. They have great little menu with great specials and the service was great as well!

Birria pizza: a giant Birria quesadilla. Tons of beefy flavor. Dip it into the consommé like a Mexican French dip sandwich and you will maximize the beefiness. Leftovers reheat well in a cast iron skillet or comal. My dining companion had the carne asada tacos and reports that the steak was tender, flavorful and better than the carne asada tacos we usually get from El Torito on Independence Avenue. Would have rated Macarena's higher but the salsas are weak. And that...well, just shouldn't be. Brightly colored and clean interior. Nice staff.

The food is very good! Come on, isn't that the main thing? The food was fresh with excellent tortillas and very nicely seasoned beef and chicken. I HIGHLY recommend the puffy tacos! It isn't fancy, but it's very good food served very quickly.

Good food. More like a fast food restaurant. Indoor and outdoor seating. Nice size menu.

Thee berria burrito is absolutely large and so amazing ! Fajitas are the best fajitas I have ever had. This place is truly good

I haven't liked anything I've ordered from here. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I would like to point others to better Mexican food. The queso tasted like white velveta with nothing else added. The margarita wasn't freshly made. It was maybe a premade, store bought margarita. My enchiladas and tacos had dry chicken. I've seen reviews about their burritos and pizza. Maybe they are good but I think the meals are over priced for what you get.

Great, clean atmosphere with amazing nachos! Hefty portion for the price. I'll be back!

Maybe they are struggling, but why play free music that goes in and out of reception and advertising commercials while your patrons are attempting to choke down flavorless food?Seriously, McDonald's is a better choice.
