I ordered delivery for downtown. The food came incredibly fast, was hot, and the portions were extremely generous. Their website made ordering online easy. (Did NOT order through a third party since they offered delivery themselves). I really enjoyed the egg drop soup and sesame chicken. My friend got veggie fried rice and their entire box was packed full (my chicken box was too). Would definitely order from them again. Bonus: they threw in some sugar donuts for free.

Wow!! What a welcome surprise in North Kansas City!!! Lucky Dragon Chinese is seriously good food with seriously-big portions!I'll share that in my opinion, since moving up here a couple of years ago, its been a real disappointment when it comes to dining out. With very rare exception there just aren't many great options available unless one is satisfied with fast food, the typical chains, or a near-endless supply of mediocre (or worse!) Mexican and Chinese restaurants with filthy floors, sticky tables, unclean menus, and staff that either can't speak the language of the USA or they lack the proper customer service skills to do so. As a result, the precious few good places which do exist north of the river are often too busy to get into unless one has the luxury of trying to arrange a reservation - if the establishment accepts reservations, that is. But after driving by Lucky Dragon Chinese several times in downtown N. Kansas City and wondering if it was worth trying, my wife tagged me with dinner responsibilities the other night. Since I was working late and knew I didn't want to go home only to head back out to find a nice place for dinner SOUTH of the river somewhere, I began poking around the web with a local search for something "different" near our home. Lucky Dragon Chinese popped up several times, so I read a few of the reviews and they were positive, with most referencing the freshness of the food, and the kindness of an older gentleman assumed to be the owner. As an entrepreneur I prefer supporting other business owners out there whenever/wherever we are able, so with the supporting positive reviews regarding their food, I decided to give them a try for carry-out.OH MY GOODNESS! There was so much food! And it was all SO GOOD!! My wife had the Chicken w/Broccoli, which she said she thoroughly enjoyed because of the freshness of the broccoli and the tenderness of the chicken. The garlic sauce it was in was flavorful, but not over-spiced at all. We split a Hot & Sour Soup and Crab Rangoon as an appetizer, and both were among the best we've had in quite some time (possibly since moving back home to the Midwest!). The soup had a nice blend of the required 'heat' in a Hot & Sour Soup, along with a reasonable level of the vinegar-y bite on the back of the tongue. The Crab Rangoon were big and stuffed full of cream cheese, imitation crab meat, and scallions. I had the Yu Hsiang Scallops & Shrimp, and it was very, very good. Great balance of vegetables with the scallops & shrimp, and all very fresh and flavorful. The sauce was one of the hotter Yu Hsiang dishes I think I have had (so it was SUPER hot by the time leftovers came around!), but good nonetheless! And we had leftovers for days!!All in all, Lucky Dragon Chinese Restaurant is well worth the stop! Don't let the simple exterior fool you; the food being prepared and served inside will be a very pleasant surprise!! We will certainly be back!

Very welcoming and responsive as soon as one enters the door. Has a very simple uncomplicated menu that makes ordering quick and easy. All the food is prepared on order but the wait is short compared to others with similar service. The food was on point and the service was attentive and prompt and definitely affordable!Ambiance is pleasant and the seating is comfortable.

Wow I've heard great things about the Lucky Dragon and I can see why. It's doesn't look appealing on the outside and the parking is a little wonky but it's definitely taste amazing. Enter in and wait to be seated. The older gentlemen who sat me was also checking customers out. But he led me to a table quickly. The space is definitely small so it does feel like everyone is invading your personal space. There are three buffet stations and they have pretty decent assortment of food to choose from. Eating here felt like the quintessential Chinese buffet I went to as a kid. Everything was well seasoned and fresh. Nothing looked like it was dry and sitting for too long. I also heard the waitress mention to another customer that if the food is cold inform them and they will switch it out. Will be back.

I tried this place on the day the electricity went out, so you know I looked at them as a lifesaver! This restaurant is hands down, so far, my favorite Chinese restaurant I have tried. The portions were large, and the price was reasonable; for all of this, it was $20. I didn't get the opportunity to go during the hours of their buffet, but I will definitely be back! I can't speak too much about the service due to me only walking in to pick up my order but they were still pleasant for a 2 minute interaction lol.

When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by a tall man near the front door. There was a worker, mopping the floor, and I could see and smell how clean the place was. I let the greeter know I wanted to place a to-go order and he showed me to a menu and a place to sit down to be comfy while I reviewed my food options. Everyone was super friendly right off the bat. I placed my order and did not have to wait long for my food. The same man who greeted me was the one who gave me my food, and he wished me a fond farewell and told me to stay warm on this cold evening. The service alone is what will bring me back to this place. It smelled so good in the car that I wished I had a fork and someone else was driving so I could start tasting it on the way home. Finally, I was home and able to dish up. My daughter tasted hers first. "So good!', she proclaimed. After my first bite I agreed. Restaurant has plenty of seating in the dining area. If you're in Northtown during lunchtime, you should stop in and try the buffet. I could see that it's a very large buffet and there must be lots of options. They also offer delivery.

I was visiting the KC area for work and just really wanted something quick that I could take back to my hotel. This was quite possibly some of the best Chinese food that I have ever had. The portions are extremely large. I ordered orange chicken, egg drop soup, and crab rangoon (far too much food for one person but it sounded so good), and after eating it still looked like I hadn't even touched the meal. Each of these items was so delicious too! I'd highly recommend this place to anyone!

Y'all, the portions are insane!!! I ordered to-go food at 2pm on a Monday. I got the Cashew Chicken lunch special. It came with an egg roll and a soup. I also ordered 6 crab rangoons. They were THE best and THE fullest I've ever had!

I wish I could give this place like 10 stars because it's our new favorite quality Chinese restaurant. Just moved to KC and am so glad I stumbled onto this gem! Egg drop soup is delicious and even comes with won tons to crumble on top. The crab Rangoons were so full and the egg rolls were fabulous. PLUS if you spend $30 they give you FREE chicken satay AND doughnuts (seriously check out the photo of them)!! The service was so fast, the guy who took our order was so nice, and the servings are ENORMOUS.

LET HIM COOK!!my friends and I were looking for a Chinese restaurant that was open past 9:30 pm. We searched Chinese near me and Lucky Dragon showed up! We called placed and order and went to pick up! The man on the phone was very charming and kind. Very helpful with ordering and paying online!! even thought we were concerned with an empty restaurant late at night we went in and all workers were friendly and amazing!!
