Lucia Beer Garden + Grill

I'm a huge fan of Lucia! The service and food are always great, and I love the music they play. But I had to leave a review after my last few visits. Don't get me wrong, I love live and loud music, but the sound guy had the last show jumping between 100-115 dB's. I watched the band start, and everyone's faces in the crowd were frozen in a " that is entirely way too loud and it hurts" look. Everyone started pulling their earplugs out, and we're at a bluegrass show, keep in mind. Crazy how loud it was! Multiple people asked him to turn it down, and he didn't. Went to the front of the venue, and it was still too darn loud! Love that they have a speaker at the front too, but even standing at the food window, we were at 110 dB. Hate to leave negativity here, but I hope they can convince their sound guy 90 dB's, like all other venues, is plenty.

Prime spot before a show at the Granada or Bottleneck. I stopped in here for a beer with my friends. Then unexpectedly fell in love with the grilled cheese and tomato soup being served. The food is being done by Lawrence wing company, I understand this might change this spot from time to time but hopefully they will stay for a long time because the grilled cheese was freaking amazing. Perfect base before a night of drinking.Definitely going to return and try the wings before the next concert. The people I was with we're eating them and we're raving!! Great prices and atmosphere too!

The food here is absolutely beautiful. My friend and I shared a grilled truffle Mac and cheese with mushrooms and it was absolutely the perfect thing to cure our regular Sunday hangover! It tasted like heaven. So good, we were savoring every bight. The food is very reasonably priced for the amount that you get. You do need to use a QR code to access the menu. The bar is lovely. Everyone who works here is fantastic. The bartenders were very kind. The chef at the restaurant is a real artist and seemed to be a good person. Same for the woman who ran the front window. I appreciated this place so much! I'm sure you'll love it too. P.S. there is a gigantic connect four set and several fun games to play to distract. This is also a music venue and I've heard so many amazing concerts here. The audio system is phenomenal.

Love this place! Their veggie burger is the best I've ever had, I'm not kidding. And I've had veggie burgers all over the country. Their fries are top 3 in Lawrence. I'm vegetarian, if you didn't guess, so I haven't had it but their regular burger and fries is only $6. Great selection of rotating craft beers on tap and an Scrooge McDuck size trove of bottles and cans. Throw in some killer live music and I think the five stars are well-deserved. Also, I've eaten here 4 times in the past 8 days. Twice in one day, once.

GO TO SNOWGLOBE! Put on your puffy coat and go to Lawrence's ski lodge. Delicious brunch and cocktails. Family friendly. Princesses on Saturday brunch. "Frozen" soundtrack on repeat. Reservations required.We had the Summit and the Shakedown. Both were delicious. Fried chicken was crispy. The Summit had a great biscuit with gravy and super crispy bacon. The Shakedown had avocado and the cheesy hash waffle was a fantastic base. They also have Belgian waffles and cake donuts. Several hot and cold cocktails, as well as hot chocolate and Irish coffee. Don't miss it!

We tried Lucia tonight after an Uber driver recommended them saying they had the best wings in Lawrence. We went around 6:45 on a Saturday. This place is a bit confusing because while it's a bar, it's also a restaurant. When we arrived, we stood for 5 minutes before we were seated. We were confused because we didn't know if we should seat ourselves or wait. This wasn't a big deal, but just wanted to add in to the review so others would know. You should seat yourself. We ordered wings and a side of fries. We are classic buffalo wing lovers- we don't like twists, just classic wings buffalo sauce. The buffalo wings were very average, maybe slightly below. The sauce had a twist and it was just ok. They had a live band playing and that was cool. Overall, no I wouldn't go back for food. It wasn't great. But I would consider going back to grab a beer.

A great new addition to the downtown scene with Caribbean food, lots of live music, and fun atmosphere.The food selection includes jerk meats, traditional side dishes, and some small plates. Although I have not personally enjoyed any of the food yet, my companions though the chicken was delicious and the Jamacian Meat Patties were a hit as well. I would love to try the onion straws and fried pickles--they are on my list for my next visit.If you remember Fatso's then the revamp of the inside is a nice surprise and the front widows that now open to the street allow some of the festivities to spill on to the the street. They retained and updated the beer garden (so on the nice days, this is a great place to work your way through the extensive beer list).

I wish I could give this place less than one star review. Our IDs are real and they took our IDs for thirty minutes and it took around thirty minutes to get our drinks. After that our food took a long time and then the service was so bad. Our waitress took our orders and then trashed talked us to our other friends at a different table. We did nothing wrong and the service was awful. I still tipped well but it was not good.

OK, yea, yea. I'm liking this place. Alot. So long Fatso's (wasn't that what it was before, an awful place?), hello Lucia. Great service this evening for the KU game, the food I'm hearing good things about and a guy next to me allowed me to cop a free jerk wing, great, (I bought him a beer in return) and the beer selection is first rate. Thank you, thank you for having at least one KC Bier Co. selection on tap. Served out of Mason jars, just fine, thank you. Free State (salute!) Copperhead and lots of options in bottles. Specials throughout the week. Caribbean chow on the menu, gotta like that.Nah, no one here interested in five damn stars. Go somewhere else for that. Too much fun to be had to go that direction. Move on, somewhere else. Oh, and for me personally, a mere 5-6 short blocks from my house. Have an idea I'll be here again. Soon.
