Love Is Key

I love this place! I went here for brunch and the food was so good! The staff were nice and it was a chill vibe.

We missed #PinkFriday but will never miss an opportunity to #SpendGreen and #BuyBlack.Had brunch today at a #Yelp find! What a wonderful experience at Love is Key in Kansas City, MO. This awesome restaurant is tucked inside of a building near 30th and Troost. It was a great surprise and adventure for us. Service was personal and genuine. They felt like friends we have known forever.  The food truck is outside giving patrons the option to carry out or dine in. The food was prepared fresh to order. We tried the Southern Bell [3 wings, waffle, potatoes] and Veggie Brunch Bowl. Both were delicious. The pesto was a special touch! #Yum The menu offers lots of variety. The artwork on the walls featured artist work and is available for sale. This food is indeed cooked with love. The environment is infused with love. I'm glad we found it.

Stopped by after seeing them while at a different shop. Food was really good. Easy to order. Owner took our order. They make their mimosas in house. Food came out pretty quickly. 2 waffles were soft & fluffy with good flavor; not dry or gritty. Crispy bacon, home potatoes with flavor & not dry. I also love all the artwork that is hanging in the dining area. I will be back

Here's an awesome concept: Waffle sandwiches.I don't know why I never thought of it, but I'm glad Love Is Key did.I chose the Queen, which was a waffle wrapped up with scrambles eggs and a couple of slices of bacon. It was served with a side of breakfast potatoes and a small container of maple syrup.Other sandwiches are available. Meals are too, including the Southern Belle, which is three chicken wings and a cake waffle. (!!!)Just fyi, there isn't a lot of space so indoor seating is limited. A couple of picnic tables are set out front, if you're looking to dine on site.

My original breakfast plans were cancelled once I arrived to a closed restaurant, and I was both annoyed and hungry. Something had to give... So I did what I always do, and I moseyed right on over to Google so I could search "breakfast places near me." Love Is Key popped up, and I was on my way. When my Mom and I walked into the restaurant, we were greeted by one of the employees right away. She went down the menu with us, and gave a few recommendations (including mimosas). What a great woman?! While we waited for our food, I looked around and took in all the amazing artwork for sale on the walls. We also enjoyed some good music that definitely matched the calm morning vibe. (I can always be won over by a good playlist). Once we made it home and tried the food, we were absolutely blown away. My waffle sandwich was delicious and the potatoes were seasoned with love. (There's your through line). The waffle was mildly sweet with sausage, bacon, and eggs. Syrup is completely optional with this sandwich!

Food was really yummy and I was impressed with the portion size and flavors of the food and coffee. I ordered the veggie protein bowl. The beautiful paintings on the wall and the music was lovely and made for a very enjoyable visit!

Love Is Key has expanded their delivery and catering concept and are now open as a walk in breakfast / brunch spot. Specializing in waffle sandwiches, I ordered one of the 3 available - The Queen. A large soft syrupy sweet waffle is wrapped around a large serving of scrambled eggs, cheese and bacon. A very tasty breakfast item for $10. My only complaint that the place is small, so only a couple of seats and no real tables are available due to Covid distancing guidelines. Be prepared to get it to go or hope for good weather and eat on a picnic table outside. They eventually hope to open an upstairs loft for dining also.

We popped in here for carry out after spotting some reviews. The brunch portion was huge and the food was seasoned to perfection. The waffle sandwiches were delicious and the chicken and waffles were crispy but not dry. I loved loved loved the eggs and home fries, which were scrambled abut also seasoned so well! Service was also excellent and our order was ready in a timely manner. I would gladly grab takeout from here again, especially when I'm craving brunch food.

Food is very over priced! Portions are very small, not to mention the owner (Mrs. Martin) has a VERY nasty attitude, she's always walking around looking angry. I try and support black owned establishments, but I will never support this one ever again!!

The waffles are the best I've ever had. As a first timer to the city and this restaurant, I recommend it hands down. You will not be disappointed! The staff is very friendly and bubbly.
