Los Amigos

This was the highest-rated Mexican place in town--I went in while in Moberly for business. The good stuff first--great atmosphere. It looks new, dark and inviting, with clean tables and good decorations. Looks like a great place to step into for ice cold beer when it's 100 degrees outside. Service was friendly as well, and they were playing some kind of Hispanic easy-listening instead of the usual "Mexican polka." The salsas were also very good--neither was over-cumin'd, and neither tasted like marinara, which happens sometimes with cheap canned house salsas. I had the Arroz con Pollo, which was hot, fresh, and properly cooked. But there was one problem, and it was a significant one--skimpy chicken. Usually you get either a whole chicken breast (or at least half of one) with this dish. I had MAYBE 3oz. of protein. They serve their arroz con pollo with chopped veggies to pump up the volume of the dish--most times arroz con pollo is just that--chicken on top of rice, usually with queso on top. We all know meat is expensive right now, and the way this dish is prepared makes it pretty obvious they're trying to save here. Maybe some of the other dishes are different? A great place, but next time I'd have to either pay for extra chicken, or a protein shake afterwards.

This is the best Mexican restaurant we have been to! The trash can nachos are delicious and have so many toppings, the cheese is delicious as well!!! Paul was our waiter and he was so good! He was very nice, checked on us about didn't hover around! He was so sweet and brought me a bag of chips to go. I highly recommend this place, we will drive the hour to eat here again! The inside is really neat with high top tables and regular ones, palm trees, flowers....such a great place!

Super good food, good atmosphere we sat at the bar and watched the game. The beers were cold with salted rims and a lime wedge. The salsa was surprisingly good and we are super picky salsa folk. I ordered the chicken quesadillas and the portion was huge and super delicious. Hubs had the carne asada burrito with verde sauce can't remember the exact name but it was super good and even really good rice & beans. We are from Oklahoma and are used to super good tex-mex and this place really held up for us food wise. Only disappointment was the service was really lacking. We waited forever for a second beer - may have just been understaffed though like everywhere. For Moberly being such a tiny town this far exceeded our expectations.

I am so impressed!!! The atmosphere here is so fun and makes you forget you are in Moberly. Am I on a cruise, am I in Mexico??? I don't know. Not until I leave anyway. Karla and Eduardo are the best!!! This was our first time here, and we will definitely be back. The drive from Columbia to Moberly was definitely worth the drive!!! Great food, great atmosphere, great service!! I am so proud of Eduardo for making his dream his reality!!! Well done!!!

Has to be the best Mexican restaurant in town. I have ordered three different meals and each one has been great. I would never hesitate to take family or friends here.

The management clearly doesn't believe in inspiring quality control. The waitress was Pleasant enough. Unfortunately that can't counter the fact the person who delivered my food acknowledged noticing the broken plate and delivered it anyway. There are families with small children here. If they don't care about what they serve the food on, do they care about the food itself? Doubtful.

I came in alone for dinner. I was basically ignored until I requested a place to sit. Then the waitress disappeared. I waited 20 minutes, then grabbed the first person, dressed as a waiter and asked if they could take my order. I ordered a taco an enchilada and a burrito two were supposed to be chicken. They came out as ground beef. That's OK I generally like hamburger they were the driest entrées I have ever had. The hamburger was dry and crumbly tiny drops of what looked like queso on top. The disappointment was unbelievable. The taco had absolutely no taste. I took the salsa and dumped it on top of the entrées to try and cheer them up, it wasn't happening. I also ordered a margarita. It was gritty, but it was extremely sweet. It did not taste like it had any alcohol in it. I know Friday nights are bad Todo estaba tan seco. Esta fue mi primera vez allí y me decepcionó mucho. It's dark in there,it was uncomfortable. I should've eaten outside

The comment about customer service is silly. When you have a busy restaurant that is a positive sign. Why good food. The lucky place next door is straight garbage so am overly should be so lucky to have a place like this. I've tried all establishments in this town there's only about 4 I'd go back too and not talking fast food. This place is great in the way of service food music and it's like being on a vacation any day if the week. I'm traveling through and been here now 4 times and I'll keep coming back.

Okay so we visited Los Amigos again for our second visit. I could have taken another picture of what we ordered but it would have been the same picture as our last review, lunch special fajitas. Are we stuck in a rut, NO! We love great Mexican fajitas and Los Amigos has the best. In addition, great service!Hasta la Vista Vaqueros! (As said by Texas Bruce). Yes that is disclosing my age or generation!!! Proud of it! Google Texas Bruce!

After 7 years living in the Moberly area we have finally found a restaurant worth visiting more than once. The service was just right and the food was not only delicious but bountiful. These days going out to eat is too expensive to waste your hard earned $$ on a so so experience. Wife and I left extremely happy. Oh and if you order the large Margarita be prepared it is LARGE!
