See one of Kansas City's treasures of Jazz! Lonnie McFadden has a supper club. Fine dining served while you enjoy the entertainment of Lonnie and his band. He's a second generation jazz and tap performer that will delight you with his music and local stories. Reserve your seats close to the stage and you won't be bothered by the larger groups and their yakking. The service is four star; the prohibition style ambiance is warm and comfortable. The Kansas City Jazz community is alive and kicking as Lonnie dances across the stage and plays his trumpets. Wonderful show!

I could go on and on about how wonderful of an evening we had, but I'll keep it short and to the point. Lonnie's Reno Club was the experience of a lifetime. My boyfriend and I can't stop talking about how wonderful and special our evening is!! Lonnie and his band are incredible, the food is decadent, and the drinks are strong. This is the perfect spot for special occasions, small groups, and a romantic evening with the greatest of the great KC Jazz scene. Each detail is thoughtful and elegant, and makes it very hard to leave. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Fantastic fun! We were in town for the NSTA conference from Los Angeles, CA and decided to enjoy Kansas City @ night! Actually it was recommended by a waitress at Waffle House in Bonner named Charlene, though she's never been here but she read it in the paper and suggested it! She was right .... It's light hearted fun jazz with a bit of Tap! Full 3-course meal. Highly recommend #gocheckitout @ Ambassadorhotelkansascity

First of all the food is amazing. I love the Beef Wellington. Best I have ever had. The friend with me needed gluten free. They bent over backwards to accommodate her. She has never had anyone do that. Our waiter Josh was great. Very thoughtful. I love the idea of Valet parking and it is only $15.00. They were very quick also. The ambiance is beautiful. Very comfortable and you can see him from every table. Very special place with a very special entertainer, Lonnie McFadden

My husband surprised me with a date here and it was an absolutely enjoyable and lovely evening. In the lower level of the Ambassador Hotel downtown, this gem was very reminiscent of a 1940's/50's jazz club experience. Not too big, not too small...but very classy, elegant and intimate. Before being shown to our table, we were greeted with complimentary champagne from our server. Once we were seated, we were given a 3 course meal menu with several high end options to choose from...which werevery pleasing to the palate: While we dined, the owner, The Amazing Lonnie McFadden(of the McFadden Brothers), performed with his exceptionally talented band both familiar and personally written pieces that combined the beauty of jazz, tap dance and all elements of everything the historical era of KC JAZZ is known for. It was a night to remember for sure. Lonnie even took the time to greet every guest that was in attendance with a firm hand shake and a warm smile. Looking forward to coming back.

I'd been hearing about Lonnie's spot and had to go check it out for myself. What a delight! So intimate and so fun! Lonnie did not disappoint. He and his band were incredible! So engaging with the audience. At the end many folks were dancing. The champagne cocktail was yummy and a nice welcome. The pre fixe menu was just as wonderful as the entertainment. Our amuse bouche was bruschetta. I had the scallop meunière, friends had beef Wellington and chicken cordon blue. Both said their entrees were delish. My scallops were tender and juicy and the Swiss chard complimented them perfectly. My dessert, the chocolate mousse, was meh.If you've seen Lonnie before you know he's so engaging and electrifying. Highly recommend it's totally worth it. Good for celebrations, date night or girls night.

Blown away by the amazing talent of the legendary Lonnie McFadden and his Reno club. Located in the swanky basement of the upscale Ambassador hotel, we were directed to our destination and greeted with complimentary champagne. It was so yummy, I ordered their champagne cocktail to pair with dinner. We got there right at 7:00 and saw Lonnie make his appearance for the night. It was quite a moment, and we are so happy for him! It felt like we were in his literal dream. The dinner was elegant and delicious. I ordered the Caesar salad, the chicken cordon blu, and the bananas foster. My husband had shrimp cocktail, beef Wellington, and the chocolate mousse. They also served complimentary bread and an amuse bouche of tomato soup. They also served salted caramel chocolates at the end!We stayed until 10:00 pm, which was closing time. But we all asked Lonnie to play just one more song. And he obliged. We danced, along with almost everyone else in the club. It was a spectacular evening.

I really enjoyed learning about the Kansas City jazz scene through this experience, but I would not recommend this place to friends or family. Although the musicians did a wonderful job, the food was very lack luster for the price tag. Complimentary Champaign (7/10)Appetizer: 1 roll with butter (5/10) - averageFirst Course: Shrimp Cocktail (9/10) - can't go wrong with shrimp cocktailSecond Course: Beef Wellington (4/10) - the beef wellington was mediocre, the mashed potatoes were good, and the broccolini was mehThird Course: Chocolate Mousse (3/10) - I tried both desserts and they weren't very appetizing. I would recommend going out for desserts afterwards.Overall, the food quality was very subpar, and I would recommend others to eat somewhere else before coming. Otherwise, expect to spend at least $300 for two people.Show length: 3 hoursTicket cost for two: ~ $90.00Dinner cost for two: $189.80Nearby parking garage: $50.00 (Try to find street parking or a nearby parking lot for cheaper. We were unlucky and parked in a very pricey parking garage)
