I guess it depends on what your looking for. I think the Longview Campground is really good if you want a easy going family experience. The campground hasnt been there very long so there are no mature trees around the camping area. It is tough to feel like your in the wilderness. With that said it is great for kids. There are tons of open areas for kids to play kickball, catch, or whatever. Also a good place for them to ride bikes on the road that goes around the campground. Its one of the few places I would let my 7yr old ride his bike on a road. Its definitly not a party campground. I think its typically quiet by 8pm. Very relaxing

Echoing other reviews here, but we arrived at 8:57pm to get in the campground before the 9:00 gate closing. The lady already had the gates down, and was just locking up the little guard station, so I jumped out to let her know we had a reservation. She was quite rude and impatient from the onset of our brief conversation. Turns out, I had made the reservation for the previous night by my mistake. But, instead of just letting us in and paying the additional night the next day, she just said, "I'm closed, I can't help you. We're closed!" And just sat with her hands in her lap and waited for me to get away from her guard shack. Sorry, but in all our years of camping, this experience takes the cake as the MOST RUDE and unhelpful. She needs a different job.

Myself, my boyfriend and other friends all of whom are avid campers, decided to try out this campground with all of our kids. Immediately upon arriving, we were dismayed at the greeting from the gentleman with whom you check in at the entrance. He was incredibly rude to the first of our party to arrive. Actually raising his voice with short answers to simple questions asked about the grounds themselves etc.. Never making eye contact, it was clear that he had zero interest in being of any help.I was the second to arrive and been warned about what I was about to encounter. Being a woman and in the sales market for many years, I felt it a challenge to win this guy over. Therefore, I was extrememly pleasant when I approached him to get our pass into the campground. I was immediately met with combativeness over the name in which the party had left. Again, he didnt even bother to make eye contact and was curt and rude to no end. The 3rd party arrived and was treated so badly (he was not forewarned) that he actually called from his cell whilst still at the gate and threatened to leave. We talked him into staying. The 4th party arrived and was met with more of the same.Throughout our 2 day stay, the man called the rangers on us two times. Once for our Box pup being briefly off of his leash (which he actually threatened that the rangers would have him removed, again in a raised voice) and once for having amplified music...not music that was too loud, but, rather, that it was amplified. Really...? Pretty sure the only thing amplified in that campground was his inscesantly raised voice coupled with his degrading tone. Two different rangers arrived respective of the two different complaints and were some of the nicest we have encountered in all the years we have been camping at disparate campsites throughout the country. They were over the top nice and you could almost feel that they felt it a ridiculous waste of their well earned time to deal with such trivial matters. One never knows what is going on with respect to one's personal turmoils. Perhaps he was just having a bad couple of days. Personally, I think that this is just who he is. He gets to live at the lake...most of us would love that life. Longview Lake is going to have a short-lived new campground lifespan if this man doesnt get some serious customer service training.
