Little Sunshine's Playhouse and Preschool of Leawood

The previous reviews are 6 or more years old and do not reflect LSP Leawood now. My daughter has attended for the last year and it has been wonderful.

I wanted to write a review on this place because I was working in this town for 3 months and traveled with my sister who has a toddler. Traveling with a toddler in it self is difficult let alone find a trust worthy place to put her while we worked. The people here were simply amazing. The staff and care takers made us feel at ease about the whole thing. Leaving a child in the care of responsible people makes it much easier for us to work without worry. I wish that every place was like this unfortunately we are not living here but for that past 3 months it's been a joy to have pet art the people here. Sadly our stay here is over and our little toddler is also sad about not seeing the staff that took such great care of her. Thank you Ashton, Emily, and of course Jackie and Kristin!

We LOVE LOVE LSP! After staying home with Owen for a full year it was really hard to leave him with anyone even my mother! Keep in mind he was breastfed and did not take a bottle! I joked around with them on his first day saying "today is going to hard day for you guys" the teacher said with a smile "It's my job and my pleasure." It is so nice knowing our little guy is in wonderful hands.So if you are looking for a place for your little one check out LSP!

Don't let their facility or marketing tactics sway you. My daughter was enrolled from the time that she was four months until she was a year and a half. While there, she caught RSV once and Hand, Foot, and Mouth twice due to the uncleanliness and poor sick policies. My daughter would regularly have a diaper rash by Wednesday that would be bleeding by Friday. We could clear it up on the weekends, but the cycle returned when she went back on Mondays. On top of everything else, we were assured that we could take our daughter out for the summers and not have to pay; however, when that time came, they said that they had a list of prospective clients wanting a spot and had us pay a drop-in fee weekly to save her spot. This fee ended up being almost $900 for the entire summer. I assumed that because it cost more than the other daycare centers in the area, it would be "better." This is not the case. The food is better, but the teachers (for the most part), policies, and business-over-people mindset make it a disaster. We were stuck there due to the fact that other centers were full, and had to stick it out while being on a wait list for another school. They don't care about your kids - they care about your money.After writing my review, Brad called me within the hour and apologized for the fact that it was not a pleasant experience for our family. He seemed stunned by the ordeal that caused us to have to pay $900 to keep her enrolled there over the summer, when we had a much different agreement with the director initially, and refunded the $900.

I was having trouble starting my two year old in school. I had picked a school that looked perfect but everyday when I came to pick him up he was crying and told me he didn't want to go back. I pulled him out and heard of Little Sunshine's Playhouse through their director and she got me enrolled. I was nervous picking him up for the first day of school but when I came in he was happy and excited! He told me he liked school. And he has told me he likes school every day since. He seems to love his friends and teachers and I feel safe and happy knowing I can always get an update or check in on the cameras to see how he is. I couldn't say enough good things about Little Sunshine Playhouse and their staff. They treated us wonderfully.

Did not have a good experience here. The director is awful to deal with, very rude , condescending and has constant issues. I have been to many schools over the years with our other children and have never been treated like we were here... Will not recommend this school to anyone!
