Leo's Pizza

Best pizza in Kansas City without a doubt. I would recommend the Italian sausage or the black olive but either way there unique cheese is really good and even better the day after.

Originally I decided not to review this place because the whole experience was so bad that I'm still not convinced it's not a front. But after seeing that somehow, people actually, of their own free will, like this place, I decided to add my two cents. "Leo's 'St. Louis Style' pizza is an unforgettable experience, and not in a good way. Let's start with the cheese. Imagine the worst grocery store brand frozen pizza you've ever had. Now lower your expectations. The provel/mozzarella mix tastes like someone melted plastic over wet cardboard and called it a topping. It doesn't so much sit in your stomach as it does set up camp and wage an angry protest, leaving you queasy for hours. The crust? Oh, it's thin alright, thin like my patience after interacting with the lady behind the counter. She greeted me with the warmth of a DMV employee and the charm of a tollbooth operator. Apparently, ordering a pizza at Leo's is a personal offense to her. I've traveled to over 30 countries, eaten everything from street food in Bangkok to haggis in Scotland, and I've had what the locals call pizza almost everywhere I've been. I can honestly say, nothing has ever made me long for airline peanuts quite like Leo's. Save yourself the trauma and just grab a frozen pizza from the store or some day-old slices from QT. Trust me, that's gourmet by comparison.

It's so nice to have a restaurant that delivers an amazing consistent pizza, year after year! I have been coming here for as long as I can remember and the pizza is always amazing! Thank you Leo's for always bringing me back to my teenage years!

This place definitely knows how to make pizza and toppings are delicious! It is a bit expensive but might be just right for you. Service takes awhile but might be worth the wait. The vibe is of the place feels like pizza shop and a bar.

Leo's Pizza is unique and some may even say an acquired taste. With its thin, cracker crust and the provel (yes, we like provel ) option you get a custom pizza like no other in KC. Leo's is a good change of pace as we usually stick to a Sicilian style. Leo's is more cheese heavy over a lighter sauce. Hamburger is the way to go because if you can't make a hamburger pizza taste good then what's the point? But I'm not hating on those that like a heavily topped pie. It's worth a try and we will continue to keep it in our rotation. For those wanting to dine inside, it's a smaller place so if you have a big group you may consider doing carry out. Also, there is a 4% fee when you use credit/debit. Enjoy!

Absolutely amazing food that is consistently fresh and delicious! If you're ever in KCMO this is a must have.

We've been going to Leo's for at least 40 years. Excellent quality. We love the deli deluxe. Yum!

This Pizza is amazing. Coming from Detroit, we have high expectations. Perfect, semi-crunchy crust and exquisite cheese. 10/10, we'll be trying to ship this across the country going forward.

Leo's pizza is our favorite KC pizza - hands down! Be aware, though. They normally put provel cheese on their pizzas. It is kind of gooey and tastes different than mozzarella. Lots of people think its the best, but some people don't like it. If you ask, they will gladly use mozzarella on your pizza instead. On your first trip, to be safe, you might try one of each.
