Legacy Christian Church - Overland Park

Went for several years, until we needed help with putting our home back together after it flooded due a plumbing issue. Our Life Group offered us a few hours on one day. Around the same time, our son graduated from high school and needed to be connected with a college Life Group. He signed up for it every day after services, but no one ever contacted him. We spoke to the leader of the group, the campus pastor and his wife, then the head pastor, who after many years of attending couldn't remember our names, said, "You can't expect anyone to be responsible for him."We left and weren't contacted until we stopped our monthly donations.

I was at Legacy today for the funeral of a friend. He had a stroke last year and had been in various hospitals for the last year before he died. He was not a member of this church and neither was his wife, but, boy did this congregation really take care of his wife. They lent tons of support and visited the hospital regularly. I can't say enough about how much they helped her out. I know she really appreciated it. Despite some other yelp reviews I've seen, it looks like the congregation really got it right in this case.

My wife and I were active here for over a year. Our experience was heartbreaking. A classic example of leadership that talks a big talk but does not walk the talk. Just another mega church that wants your money. Very sad!

My wife and I joined Legacy a year and a half ago and could not be happier. We visited the Olathe campus a few times and were surprised when the campus pastor Darren remembered our names despite weeks in between visits. We immediately felt welcome and found that getting involved was very easy. We have since been a part of a covenant group which meets weekly and enjoy serving in Sunday school classes as well. This is a bible church focused solely on the Word of God and leading by example. The atmosphere is very inviting with a clear and consistent, as well as challenging, message. This is the first church I have ever been pleased with and that is a direct result of the leadership.

I love Legacy!! One of the most difficult parts about graduating high school is leaving this church.

Legacy Christian Church is a wonderful church that strives to shepherd its congregation and teach the Word regardless of societal pressure. Many of the negative reviews I've seen here on Yelp have come from a theologically incorrect perspective on what the Bible says about church leadership, and it saddens me that they think that way, but I am thankful to be a part of a church that loves me well, and that won't back down on what the Bible says.

The people at Legacy have been nothing but great to us! I'm a better wife and disciple of Jesus because of my experience in the community at this church.

Love this church! Moved to the Leawood area, And went to quite a few churches - eventually found Legacy Church in Overland Park, it immediately became home. The word of God is preached. Childcare is excellent.It has a simple philosophy - Love God, Love people go live the word. My wife and I love our small group. Wonderful people.

Have really liked the sermons in the past at this church, but not the last couple of weeks. Didn't like the fact that the pastor at this church said today, "Women must submit to their husbands. Women, if you don't then you have a problem". I have a strong problem with this. It's 2018. There are families where the wife makes more money than the husband and men are doing laundry now. A marriage should be a partnership. Men and women should submit to God.

This is a great place for young children, young adults, and special needs! They even have special service for the deaf and the Hispanic has special services!
