I was new to Kansas City, this is one of the few restaurants that I could enjoy some home cooked meals. The girls were very friendly, it's a hole in the wall type of place.

Very clean great service. The best tamale I've ever had. The guacamole was superb you will not find it better anywhere. I feel an addiction coming on to the guacamole. The al pastor tacos where yummy also. Chips and salsa great. Everything I had was fantastic. Prices were very reasonable too.

Ok let me tell yall....if I don't like a place I YELP IT LOUD. But if I LOVE a place I'm gonna RAVE RAVE RAVE about it.This place will get nothing but RAVES. OMGosh the food was beyond awesome. Had it delivered and it came hot with such large portions. The tamales were HUGE and wrapped in banana leaves. They were so moist and had such flavor! Had the pork and chicken tacos on corn tortillas and talk about fresh and tasty. We tried the pupupas (sp?) as well. Talk about something that has flavor for something that looks so simple. I could eat these for days....we had like 4 different ones and ALL of the were awesome.Hubby had the chicken chimmychanga(sp) it was huge came with awesome beans and rice that even had awesome flavor. NOT your typical rice for sure.We have enough left over for 2 more meals easy and we pigged out!!!. We did order more than we usually would but glad we did. Loved trying all the goodies we got!YALL HAVE TO TRY THIS PLACE FOR LATIN FOOD ITS TRULY THE REAL DEAL!

I will state that the Seafood Soup was quite delicious, although 45 minutes to prepare it seemed excessive.I was, however, highly disappointed with the Guacamole. For $5 you get a small dollop of mashed avocado on a bed of wet lettuce, and a plate of tasteless chips, that weren't even fresh. When I inquired, I was told it was $3 for the 'guacamole' and $2 for the chips. I was also quite surprised to be charged 25 cents for tap water.

Loved, loved, loved these pupusas. They were the real deal for sure. The Latino American's menu has all the ingredient combos you'd expect for pupusas: loroco and cheese, revuelta, beans, chorizo, plus a few special ones like shrimp. The corn masa is homemade and tastes like it. The curtido was on point as well. Another highlight was a chicken tamal. It was so moist and tasty, it reminded me of a Venezuelan hallaca. This hole in the wall is definitely worth a visit for some high quality, homemade food from El Salvador. Oh, and they have real Salvadoran horchata, too. It's different from the Mexican version, more nutty and lots of cinnamon. As for decor, it's minimalist, a flag or two, some signs encouraging people to rein in their kids' exuberance (thanks for that, by the way). Service was polite and prompt.

This is a mom and pop joint, run. a family. Don't expect bottomless margaritas and chips and salsa. Expect great food, at a great value, served by friendly people. We had pupusas. They were incredible! Service was very friendly and helpful. Our waitress was very patient and helpful in explaining Salvadoran food to us. Price is right as well. Very affordable. I will be back.

If you're looking for authentic Latino food, particularly Central American, particularly Salvadorian food.. this is the place to go!!! Prices can't be any better but the food is to die for. If you've never had papusas, you are missing out. Make sure to try it with the coleslaw provided, you'll keep wanting more. Typically on Wednesday they have a $1.25 sale on papusas and a sale for something else everyday of the week. I usually order with platano maduro (fried plantains with a side of refried beans and crema) and/or a tamale (Salvadorian-style) and sometimes when I can.. the fries (Salvadorian-style topping). Reminds me of when I used to go on trips to El Salvador. I always end up leaving nostalgic here but I believe if you're open to new foods this is a place to try. Oh, don't forget to try the horchata too!

Great value for wonderful, fresh and delicious Latin American food. Best al pastor taco and only $1 on Tuesday! Yes, please. Tried four kinds of papusas, three kinds of tacos and the best tamale I've ever eaten. Salvadoran tamales just stole my tamale loving heart. They deliver, so I may never leave the house or cook again.
