Las Gorditas

My pork in red sauce burrito ($4.00) was tasty, with only a fair amount of meat, and a fresh tortilla, while the refried beans ($1.75) were okay, but lukewarm. Two sauces were available. The red sauce had a high level of heat, while the green sauce had a nice, medium heat level. The dining area was clean and spartan, without background music, while the table service was fast (five minutes), and fine, but with a significant language barrier. This business was cash only. The menu was limited, with tacos, menudo, and certain meats only available on weekends. Parking was also very limited. It was a very authentic experience, but overall, meh.

Had my first burrito today from this locally-owned gem. Beef and potato burrito with green sauce was everything I love about authentic Mexican food; classic flavors, good portions, handmade tortillas, and fresh medium-spiced sauce. Thankful my painter suggested it. I don't know how I've missed it all these years I've been in Belton.

This food is authentic as it gets. If you are looking for some BS tex-mex this is not your spot. This is AUTHENTIC Mexican.
