La Bella Winery

A great little winery off the beaten path. It's a bit of a drive from the Kansas City Metro area but well worth the trip. The wines are great and the atmosphere and views are beautiful.The employee Gladys was very friendly and knowledgeable about their wines and let us sample many of them to see what we liked. She had a group of friends at the winery and offered to let us join them.It was a beautiful day so we opted to each have a glass of wine and sit on the patio overlooking the lake and vineyard. This was our first visit, we bought several bottles to take home and plan on being repeat customers.

We had a bachelorette wine tour this weekend and La Bella was one of our stops. We enjoyed the patio and pretty pond view out back.

Oh my goodness this was one of the most fun winery stops I've ever had. Patricia was a phenomenal hostess and the place is gorgeous. On top of that the wine was pretty delicious as well. If you like a tasty cinnamon apple wine without all the sediment, their "Santa's little helper" is amazing!

They have been in business now for 2 years and are still learning.They have 1 wine that was from the older owner they are trying to get rid of still a Rosa.They have their own Rosa, a St. Vincent that is a cherry wine, a Vignoles that was decent, Sunday Driver which was very good and I bought that one. A Peach Out Peach that was syrup sweet, and a Strawberry that is semi-sweet with a weird after taste.The manager was awesome. Lots of stories and telling us how they came to own the winery and their plans to put in a pizza oven. They have a big space to rent for parties and have live music on occasion.

Several months later and I return to this hidden treasure of a winery. It seems like their wine has gotten better, but maybe my tastes have improved. Still love Sunday Driver for a sweet summer wine and the Renegade Red (which has a funny back story) is a great red for those who like a sweet red. I'm not normally a big sweet drinker, but they had so many good wines to chose from it was a hard choice! I'll be back again for sure...even with that MU clock on the wall :)

I went for a wedding a while back and had a wonderful time. The wood fired pizzas were AMAZING. The staff was courteous as well. The grounds are also beautiful and it was great to spend time on their patio with friends.

Once upon a time this was New Oak (I believe). Under new ownership La Bella looks promising. They have a variety of wines available and a large (if dated) event space. There will be a pizza oven added in the fall. Our host was friendly. I look forward to a return trip to see if La Bella continues to improve.

I'm going to give La Bella an extra star based on what I think they can be. From the reviews, it looks like they've been in business for a couple of years, but they are still working out some of the kinks (and still getting rid of some of the previous owner's wine).It's a little difficult to find, but once you get there, the location is beautiful, and the wine has great potential. I'm looking forward to returning for one of their pizza events to relax and try even more wines!

We enjoyed tasting wine and eating a great wood fired pizza while sitting out on the deck overlooking a nice little pond.

Nice local winery with great tasting options. We particularly enjoyed the Sunday Driver and The Rock. The venue itself is located on a pond with a beautiful back patio. They also offer a woodfired pizza and entertainment. What a great spot!
