KC Gem and Mineral Show
Fluffle puff #MWBF16
Picked up earrings at the annual Gem and Mineral Show. Normally I don't wear ones this big but these are pretty and only $6! Abalone shell.

This is a very nice, open Expo Center. Great for suppliers, as well as customers. Staff was very friendly and the facility was very nice. I like it is connected (by an outdoor sidewalk) to the Holiday Inn. Overall, great experience.

Nice clean area for an expo. I'm not sure how to rate this as it's mostly a venue. The space it open and the restrooms were clean. Parking was kind of scarce as there was snow covered spots in the area. They did offer additional parking across the street and up a hill but it was 10 degrees so bit of a bother. Still a nice event space

I have been here several years in a row to go to the stamp and scrapbook Expo and it's always a great event. The food offered is not extraordinary but it's good it's not rubber chicken and the fact that you don't have to leave and come back and try to find a parking space is a huge Plus. This past year when we went for the stamp and scrapbook Expo in June the AC was not working in the classrooms so that was kind of annoying but the staff was working really hard to get it fixed. The main showroom was huge and set up well I saw on social media several people complaining how cold it was I thought it was comfortable I don't know what they were talking about.

Went to a gun show (as have with many previous gun shows). Huge space to have many vendors and clean bathrooms. Parking is kind of a nightmare, especially if you go Saturday afternoon. Get there when they open and it's better.

I have heard of this place for years and finally stopped in to see it. Full disclosure, the negative is that it's located in the Up, Up, and Away Cafe in the Expo Center. The experience is a little lessened by that. Otherwise, a great history of TWA. Seven large glass display cases with history and memorabilia from the 1930s to the early 1980s. Highlights are uniforms, mainly flight attendants including those from the TWA Foreign Accent flights where cabin crew wore English bar wench attire, or a la mode French foil dresses, among others. Pilot blazers, hats, uniform coat and hat from when TWA pilots trained Lufthansa pilots. Early pilot training simulator, it looks like a child ride outside a grocery store. Great detailed history of the evolution of TWA and it's connection to the larger world and U.S. history. The exhibits will take you an hour or so. Worth the trip

It's a nice space for events. We have attended many gun shows here and the parking tends to fill up quickly and then be limited to street parking. The lobby is large and fairly nice. The restrooms are also large, cleaned well stocked. The snack bar area is a bit lacking, but that is so minor given that the facility is large, clean and well-maintained.
