KC Kayak & Canoe

We decided to rent kayaks for our friends who were visiting from out of town, since we already have our own kayaks. The rental service we chose provided excellent customer service and had a variety of options to fit everyone's needs. The pricing was very reasonable, making it an affordable option for a fun day on the water. Our friends had an amazing time paddling around and exploring the area, and we were really pleased with how everything went!

You don't see many kayaks or recreational crafts on the Missouri River near KCMO, but hopefully that is starting to change! We did the 5 mile KC Bridges kayak tour with River Run Rentals and had a blast. Only took about an hour and you get a great view of the KCMO bridges from a unique angle, plus you see snippets of KC's abandoned industrial waterfront! Randy the owner was very laid back and took great care of the group. We put in at Kaw Point in KCKS - a bit smelly since you are downwind of a water treatment plant, but once you are out on the water, it is a lot of fun. Very easy paddling. We landed just east of the Kit Bond bridge. You do have to keep in mind that the Missouri River is called the "Muddy Mo" for a reason; the water is pretty murky and filled with branches and debris :) There was a bit of wildlife, too - lots of swallows that build mud nests under the bridges, and I saw a deer.River Run does longer trips and will do custom trips, too. They have been active for a couple of seasons, and I hope this really takes off. We will definitely do this again!

The staff is very helpful in helping you get ready to navigate the MO River. It was fun to see the sights from Parkville and through downtown. Super cool local adventure!

Had so much fun on our bridge tour. Super helpful to have a company to guide you before and be right there after! A great experience! Can't wait to do a larger route!

A group from work did the bridges float...what a great company....on time, equipment was great, we had a wonderful time!
