Kansas City Restaurant Week is a great way to try restaurants that you might not normally go to. The general deal is a 2-course lunch for $15 or a 3-course dinner for $35. Every year the website updates the list of restaurants participating in the deal. Reservations book up FAST so keep that in mind when planning your meals. One thing that I do is look up multiple menus at once and see which restaurants are a really good deal because I will admit some of the restaurants are particularly a good deal but for the most part they are. With the pandemic, many restaurants are even offering the restaurant week deals for to-go in case you are not comfortable dining in. A couple of tips to keep in mind when eating at restaurants during this week. 1. many of the restaurants pre-prepare the restaurant week menu to keep up with the amount of those dishes they are turning out 2. many restaurants book up really quick and get very busy- be mindful with the waitstaff during this3. you don't have to get the restaurant week deal even if you go to a restaurant during this weekI highly recommend participating in this week as it is a great way to explore the city in different areas. Sometimes you even discover restaurants you love and become regulars at!

Restaurant Week is a phenomenon that happens in many cities, sometimes under the same name, sometimes under a different one (a famous restaurant week in LA is called DineLA). It is a really, really great opportunity to get a preview, an insight, a look-see at a restaurant. But it is an absolutely horrible time to try to make a definitive judgement about a restaurant. You may indeed catch them on a slow night or with such an integrated menu that the experience is one and the same, but I think that such an experience is the exception, rather than the rule.Foodie fatty that I am, I embarked last Friday on a very ambitious program: to go to a different restaurant every day of restaurant week. Furthermore, go to those places that I wouldn't "ordinarily" go to. That is, ignore my tried-and-true favorite of the Rieger, the Westside Local, Pot Pie, etc. because I know I love them and RW isn't going to change that. Instead, go to those places that I wouldn't normally go frequently/haven't made it to.What that ended up doing was adding places like the American, Cafe Sebastienne, Pierpont's, etc. to my list. The reason I didn't wait until the end of this week to write this review is because I want to tell you how colossally stupid you are if you let a week like this go by and you miss the opportunity to eat at a Restaurant like Michael Smith, Webster House, Justus, the American, or Pierpont's for THIRTY DOLLARS for a 3 to 4 course meal. You don't have to pick those restaurants, but if you don't take advantage of this week, you're not taking advantage of:1) the financial part of this promotion - 1, it's for charity (proceeds go to Harvester), 2, it's incredibly inexpensive2) the chance/excuse/opportunity to bring out your friends who don't ordinarily dine out during a time when you can't use a holiday as an excuse. Now, go out and make this last weekend of Restaurant Week count. You have 3 days.PS I'm pretty certain that 9 days of eating out will add 15 cumulative pounds to my life. But it's been blissfully worth it so far.

Ahhh, Kansas City Restaurant Week or KCRW. I long for this week to come around every year. This is the week when my inner alter ego fat self arises after hibernation for the year and pig the hell out. Yes, I said it, this is the week I leave my dieting, healthy side at home while I venture off to discover new restaurants that KC has to offer. This is also the week my bank account takes an exponential plunge and the scale tips over a few pounds as I am dining at a different restaurant each night!KC Restaurant week is an event that is held once a year for roughly 10 days in the Kansas City Metro area. It's a great way for restaurants to participate in this event as a means of making their restaurant known. Each restaurant provides their own KCRW menu where during lunch they'll serve a 2 course meal for $15 of several entrees to choose from and dinner serves a 3 course meal for $33 also of several entrees to your choosing. You'll also have the option to opt out and order from their regular menu. My only issue with RW is that most of the dinner items are variations of the same thing....a salmon entree or a 4-6oz filet mignon. This is a great opportunity for fellow KC peeps to enjoy an evening of fine dining at a reasonable price. As I like to call it, dining like Kings and Queens without having to fork over an arm and a leg. But beware, it's such an amazing deal it's difficult to only go to just one restaurant so it tends to add up. I've been attending to this event for 2 years so far, the first year it was not as popular therefore RSVP were not necessarily needed. This year however, by word of mouth and local media advertisement it has gained much popularity that my parties made RSVP for all of our dining experiences. Needless to say we are glad we did! I was very impressed by how prepared the restaurants were (at least the ones I dined at). They all had great systems for seating, taking orders and running food out in such timely manners. Our drinks never fell below the half way mark. My advice to first timers for future KCRW, dine at the very high end to get your money's worth! Depending on where you go, some of their entrees apart of RW is almost the same price as dinner itself so it makes it worth it. Other places, you'll break even therefore it's not as a great deal as it seems. Anyways I think I've rant on long enough about how awesome this event is (it's not just a KC thing by the way, they have it offered to major cities out there. Be on the lookout for your city!) Until next time KCRW, stay classy. I'll see you next year, and years to come.

Fantastic all around! Foolishly, I only discovered this event last year and, that year, only went to one restaurant. Last year, I went to Melting Pot with my husband. $33 each and we were somehow lucky enough to have gotten seated at one of the private curtained booths without having paid for the package. This year I've already hit up the top notch Capital Grille, Melting Pot again, and Gram & Dum (very tasty and diverse choices!). I have Bluestem and Plaza III still to hit up and I cannot wait.

Restaurant Week is one of the best events in KC. It is a great opportunity to try many places and visit favorites at a good price. I have many first experiences during restaurant week and I have found many new favorites. It has allowed me to try places that I couldn't justify spending so much at before and after felt totally comfortable with their regular prices as the food deserves it. Save all of your Christmas money and splurge on Restaurant Week, you will not be disappointed! The only con, they should do it twice a year!

There is nothing more that I can say that hasn't been covered by the two other reviewers.RW is fantastic. The variety and the quality offered is unheard of! Whoever put this together spent a lot of time on it and I can not thank them enough.Great food that doesn't break the bank and the cherry on top is your helping fight hunger in your local community!CHEERS!

This is my favorite time of year in KC! Last year was the first year I participated and we just went to Fogo de Chao and it was outstanding. This year, we planned ahead and visited Fogo de Chao, The Capital Grille and Melting Pot. There are so many fantastic restaurants to choose from and it benefits Harvesters which is a really great organization in the KC Metro. Make sure to mark your calendar for next year, and definitely make reservations at your favorite spot. Capital Grille was my favorite!!

Restaurant Week is exactly the kind of "local flavor" event for which I was searching when I joined Yelp. Nine days of foodie awesomeness:- well over a hundred restaurants, there's got to be at least a couple on the list that you've been meaning to try- $30 for a special multi-course meal is very reasonable!- It benefits Harvesters, to boot. Get a great meal & feel good about helping a worthy charity. It's always held the last weekend of January. Check the website & make your plans for next year.

This is a great event in KC. I highly recommend taking full advantage of it. My preferred method is to use it to try the fancy restaurants that aren't normally in our budget. Plus, it benefits Harvesters which is a great local food organization. Just do it man!
