I love coming to the library. We chose this location as out new location for the KC Silent Book Club. The meeting room is huge! The last library location we used, put us in a super small room. We could barely accommodate the members. We don't have that issue anymore! We booked 2 more meetings here and out Book exchange! If you are free April 20th, come on over and join us for some silent reading and bring your books for Book exchange.

Really cool spot. Library in an old house, yes it is very small for a library, but quite authentic public library in Kansas. Loved how much effort people made having really limited resources. Great job, I truly admired the work done!

I much rather prefer the one at the plaza as this location is particularly small. The selection is decent especially the dvd section, but in terms of a place to study I prefer a large space with large tables and this location doesn't quite live up to that. There is a tiny location for kids in the back but has very limited space

A very quaint library, which gives you the full flavor of Westport, like it or not. The library itself it is a building from the late 1800s, and was the first branch of the KC library system (after the original, I guess). It's a small-ish feeling area that seems comfortable rather than cramped. It has a nice children's area with little chairs and tables. There are tons of DVDs to rent for $1, or go upstairs and check out the more (National Geographic) or less (the L word) educational DVD selection which is free. Other than that there's lots of computers and newspapers and it usually doesn't get busy until around noon to 3 or 4. It's fun to people watch there, too, if you have nothing better to do.

The staff here is super friendly and cute. It the usual people hitting up the free internet and all that. The library itself is super tiny. They have a community room to reserve and use. Which is super awesome. They do lots and lots of presentations for the children of the community here! It does have a distinct odor especially with the heating during the winter. They do not have a very good place to do any studying. They have a couple of tables in the middle area by the entrance, but it is not isolated enough to feel comfortable to do any real studying without feeling like someone is looking over your shoulder. The library and services provided are what makes this old established library worth its weight.

Not nearly as good of a selection compared to the other libraries I've been to in the area. I usually travel to the Waldo branch to get stuff over this one because it is alot bigger and nicer than this one.. It is close to my home so I will have reserved items sent here for pick up.

It was my first time there and I had a receptionist who was incredibly rude. Her answers to my questions were "yes or no". She offered little helpful advice and made me feel like I was not welcome. I was there to only print a few pages from the computers and probably there a total of twenty minutes but because of her lack of communication skills I will probably not spend my time there again.
